It's not just you ####.

If someone has a problem it shouldn't start an argument.

I. Do. Not. Want. To. Start. An. Argument. Every. Time. I. Say. Something.

So just please.... stop.....
I am so tired of that...
Who caused all this fighting..? It's funny that we will argue over speaking in tongues but we all agree on speaking in bicker.

Just who is speaking thru us when we are here?

When people speak in tongues, it doesn't matter who's speaking thru them because no one knows what the heck they're saying :)

Speaking of missing the point. You missed the point when said honoring parents is all about them honoring us.

How does that work for God? Maybe he just didn't honor Adam and Eve enough. Maybe he just didn't honor Cain enough. Maybe he just didn't honor the Pharaoh enough. Maybe he just didn't honor the Pharisees, Sadducees, and Romans enough.

You speak from what you want the Bible to say. Not what it does say.

And you start your own post to pat yourself on the back for being that profound?

How's this for an honest, biblical answer?

How do you know if something is the truth? When the advice comes from the Word, not the world/pop psychology/popular opinion.

I said it's a two-way street. Rtfp.

And say hello to the ignore button. I'm done talking with abrasive, argumentive people here.

And again, way to miss the point.

"We read posts not to learn and understand but to reply"

When we read to understand, that is when the arguing here will stop.

This thread is about the need for us to STOP THE HATEFUL ARGUING WITH EACH OTHER.

I saw your answer. No, you answered to reply. How do I know this? Because you hadn't noticed the OP hadn't been back in two weeks, but you just had to reply anyway. And then from there had to join in with what was going on in that minute, (which was Page 5.) Didn't even bother to see what happened before that. Too busy patting your back.

I am hateful! I HATE pop-psychology replacing God. I HATE how many tell the easiest way out of something instead of God's way of dealing with something. And I HATE that buddhism is what is expected as the natural covering of a Christian.

I will NOT let these things continue on simply because the loudest mouths on this site say that is how it must be, or you're a hater. I see what's happening to the next generation of Christians. They're being taught to be as ignorant and hateful as what is passing as gospel on here. AND they think they're being taught properly.

I have been a devout Christian since I was 5 years old.

Yet I have never had more doubt in my faith than I do now, strictly because of the way we treat each other here.

And this is a perfect case in point.

I start a thread about how we need to stop fighting with each other, and here we have a woman who, ignoring the subject of the thread, imports an issue from another TOTALLY UNRELATED thread for no other reason THAN TO TAKE A SWING AT ME.

I can only imagine how many new and aspiring Christians we have turned apostate because of this very issue.

As TC said here,

I. Do. Not. Want. To. Start. An. Argument. Every. Time. I. Say. Something.

And yet many of you seem hell-bent on making that an impossibility.

I must be more 'olde-fashioned' than I thought I was, cause, 'ole-time', most disagreements
were just what they were, 'disagreements', with NO BAGGAGE, - wow, where did all the baggage
get so over-the-top-piled-up?!?!? (hate-pat-popular-apostate,etc...) some of yall's words.,,

see why we, 'hubby & i' don't 'engage' up to a certain-point???, we just can't bear it, it's wayyyyy to hurtful,
we're barely able just to read it, and this is only by Jesus' will that we do so...

we must figure-out and learn from what is 'un-profitable' to us in our relationship with Jesus first,
and then our brethren, in conversation and attitude'...

Old, I usually listen to you, but I'm very tired of being blamed and then not speaking up. Just taking it and walking away, while people are busy gossiping about me all over waiting until the next time to bring their friends and watch what they can do. This time I'm sticking up for myself, because I'm being lied about on purpose to make Ricky feel good about himself.

So, to Ricky,

How is a thread "totally unrelated" when that is where all the quotes come from?

It's very related. People come on here, (Family Forum) and get pop-psychology/worldly advice/popular opinion. This is supposed to be a Christian site. Where is God's opinion? Where does the Bible fit in other than a verse or two to prove whatever that person wants to prove about their theory.

Have a bad marriage? Leave the spouse.

Have bad parents? Avoid them and get what you want. There supposed to honor you first anyway.

Tongues? How does tongues even make it to the FAMILY forum?

We weren't talking about you on the last post. You're just stuck thinking it's always about you. Then you get mad, and then you post about how "they..." and how "I" and there is no difference between you and they.

If the entire state of California is so bad that you have to move far away, and if this site is so bad that you have to blame apostasy on it, and if you have to validate how much poor people hate your help, maybe it's you.

Don't want an argument? Fine. Don't validate yourself for saying something about everyone else who argues like you do, especially when you don't even know the answer or what was going on, and expect a zen moment.

You go off on stuff no one knows how it's related to anything else, (like this), and then get angry because you intentionally went off and pretend it's a righteous act. Look at the results. Dan's the bad guy. I'm the bad guy, and you think you were the good guy when you did exactly what you were complaining about everyone else doing.

I get Temp's problem. She watched two adults acting like not-adults. What's your excuse? You don't even know what was going on right before you joined in.

John 13:35New King James Version (NKJV)[SUP]35 [/SUP]By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

It's all about Jesus and His love for us and when we realize and understand His love and sacrifice made for us by Him showing His love for us we then are grateful to Him and in turn we learn to show that love to our brothers and sisters. We just all need a refresher course on this love that is being talked about above.

A good way to self check oneself if their conversation may be pleasing to God!
Are we feeding the Spirit? or feeding the Flesh?

GALATIANS 5:19 - 5:22 will reveal if your acts are of the sinful nature. Or of the fruit of the Spirit.
Reading this scripture often. One may find themself receiving an Ouch!... quite often.

Some people simply don't have love in their hearts nor compassion is why you see alot of hate. People claim to follow Christ but don't follow his teachings about love. Not to mention some people are unable to accept reproof or correction without feeling offended. I've seen the older generations display it as well

Don't mean to take a swipe at you but you claim to have been a "devout Christian since the age of 5"? It is quite the romantic notion but does sorta push the limits of reason.

Mt 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

Jas 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
Jas 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Just so there's no misunderstanding, I'm guilty of being abrasive too. But it's got to stop somewhere and the first step is acknowledging the problem. Gettin' awful tired of it doesn't hurt either.

Rog, while we're at it I'll apologize to you for our past; I still think I'm right in my questions and assertions but I handled it the wrong way.

I've always had a strong spiritual connection, insanely so if you ask me. I accepted Christ when I was 5 at a Billy Graham crusade. Sure, I spent some time between then and now investigating alternate beliefs, but there was never a time when the word of God didn't describe the spiritual world I was seeing better than anything else. That's why I am so assured of it; I know a thing or two because I've seen a thing or three.

Which segues back to the op courtesy of Mr Notuptome: Mt 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. We (try) to speak the word of God here. But satan quotes scripture too. So when we speak scripture here is it really God's voice in us doing the speaking? Or when we tell each other to piss off in Jesus' Name could it really be satan moving our 'lips'? satan doesn't have to get us to mis-interpret scripture, he just has to get us to beat each other over the head with it. How something is said is every bit as important as what is said. And in how we speak here, I say mission accomplished oh evil one. You got us.

So here's what I'm going to do... absent any real progress in a discussion, I'm going to limit myself to 3 or 4 exchanges and then wish my friend a good day and step away. Make it more important to present an idea to people, instead of trying to convince them of it. It's not my job to convince people of the truth. 99% sure at this point that it's not going to happen anyway ;)

Anyone else want to take that pledge?

Language is getting a little coarse these days? I just try to be fair and not overly emotional. Which is much easier said than done.

Spent my life working in the streets. The truth isn't always wrapped up in pretty soft words. Besides, that's pretty much what a lot of these arguments devolve into, and sometimes people need to see the ugly side to get it. Like #4 above.

Yeah, I can relate.
