Your pastor asked a valid question, especially if he does not know you. If you can’t do something you can’t; if your making excuses because you don’t want to you are making up excuses only you know that and it’s between you and G-d.

No offence but all I hear is me, me, me and him (husband). Great you went on mission’s trip; I did too back in 2004. I use to preach, for real, and gave alter calls. Have not done so in over 10 years. you did not tell us when you did this stuff…. don’t really care.

What you told us is your two days off are important to you to do what matters to you. Isn’t that between you and G-d. If He is ok with what you do and being offended by your pastor then, well good, or maybe there could be some conviction there, hints the offence….

What is point Jesus or a Pastor? Does Pastor has our rewards in the Heaven? No, He doesn't.Of course,we're receive rewards from Jesus and we do everything for Him The next answer in KJVMatthew25;34-40 34.Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Came,ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the World;35. For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was stranger, and you took me in;36.Naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick, and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37.Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thersty, and gave thee drink? 38. When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39.Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40.And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethen, ye have done it unto me. Thanks your Pastor for a good question.

We do something for Jesus on a weekly basis, and missions 2 x a year. What is point was in asking was he wanted us to go eat lunch with him after church and we had prior plans. Once we told him what we were doing (which happened to be grocery shopping and meeting our son), he said "what are you doing for Jesus" .... get it?
