Either way I think technology is with us to stay, if we can just teach moderation. Unless of course we become Amish!

There's so much we allow into our hearts and minds via TV, movies and etc. I remember this being an issue that was spoken about in churches. Today, not so much.

Today, teens are lost without their cell phone. To take it away would be like the worst abuse imaginable in their eyes. We as believers need to wake up to what we're feeding our hearts and minds.

Sorry I haven't had a chance to read the article. Maybe I can get to it later tonight. But thanks for sharing.

Also, I see you're fairly new, so welcome to CC!

the 'evil-one' seems to have made his max for this generation...he has managed to find
his way of taking the mind-spirit, 'totally-away' from Jesus into his realm of deception...

This was used by the late Elisabeth Elliot as the format for one of her radio programs. Your Child and Your TV | Back to the Word The silver screen, whether TV or computer, is addicting.

Even secular child development experts recommend that children 3 and under have 0 screen time in order that their brains have the best opportunity to developed.

With older kids a good book series such as The Narnia Chronicles or Lord of the Rings read aloud is entertaining for both kids and parents. I miss those times to this day and my boys have fond memories too.

Anything, including scripture, can be used for good or evil. It's up to us to have self-control. Whatever is good, praiseworthy, or excellent in any way- think about such things.

I have experienced much good with tvs, computers, and phones. It's a long story about how, but Facebook alone has saved my daughter from sexual abuse and possibly death. (No my daughter was not on Facebook at the time).

Technology has kept our family safe, showed us wonders of God's creation that we wouldn't see otherwise, and has helped us with everyday life- such as cooking and cleaning. But most of all, it helps me to go into all the world and share the gospel message.
