Hello all I am finally today able to move after really hurting my neck sat.... The injury was pretty bad this time.. I see the surgeon in May to see whats next.. I am actually feeling pretty well today.. Knock on wood maybe just maybe I can get a week in with out pulling something in my neck or back or with out the discs moving... that would be great... Also i lost half of my medical insurance so I never was able to get the social worker... I am kind of in limbo right now on the moving thing I know I want to move soon just got to figure things out.. My hubbys income just got all messed up they are taking more out in child support then they are supposed to so we are lacking funds this month. Oh well At least I am safe and feeling pretty good today that is all that matters to me.. Hubby has been on some new medication for a few months now for mood.. It ssems to be working he is better with his anger and his complaining about everything I do.. I still don't think his behavior change is enough for me to want to stay with him continuously.. For right now i just pray about what I should do and take things one day at a time.. glad I got to come in and let everyone know all is okay and catch up.. God bless you all..

I'd look, but I'm not in the medical field, so I'm thinking all I'd see is an Xray of a neck. I was hoping someone in the medical field could see it moving, so they'd get what's going on.

Do NOT take this as a sign to rearrange your furniture or do anything that could rehurt the neck. Keep your work level to "still recuperating." (I know I'd be tempted to get some heavy work done if I were feeling better, so just thinking you might have my mindset. lol)

Me too I go to my regular Dr. Tomorrow I am going to have her look and see what she suggests. I also don't see spine surgeon until May I will report back tomorrow after I see regular Dr.. a friend who has seen their fair share of back imaging says the faucet joints in the neck a worn down to nothing and that is what is causing the slipping.. will ask Dr. About that tomorrow.

Yes I am that way lol I have to constantly remind myself to slow down and don't do that on my good days. There are so few of them I want to cram as much stuff in as I can lol.. on a plus side hubby has been helping out a lot with house work dishes laundry etc.. by all rights he should. . But it does make it easier. I finely let him do stuff with out me wanting to redo it because it is done wrong lol...

When you go to a surgeon, she's going to tell you that you need surgery. Their mind is set to just that. You may well have to have surgery, but don't forget to ask if there is another solution too.

John went to a surgeon because he had a cyst on his kidney that was probably -- and was -- cancer. Fortunately, instead of seeing "the surgeon," he saw a resident. (Residents are fully doctors, but they're still getting their education in the field they want to specialize in.) The resident was new at being a resident, so still going with what he learned as an intern -- tell everything you know. He was supposed to be setting John up for surgery that required opening John up with a 18" incision from back to front, which would have caused John 30 days in the hospital. And he did tell John all that, and did schedule the operation for two weeks later, but he did something else too.

He told John that there was a new procedure that deals with the cyst too. It's called "cryo-oblation." They insert a very long needle through his back up to the cyst on his kidney, take a biopsy, and then freeze the whole cyst. It was a new out-patient procedure. Then he said that particular hospital, (the VA), still considered it experimental, so couldn't do it.

Hmmm, 18" incision + 30 days in the hospital vs. long needle in back as an open-patient procedure? No contest! lol

So, we took those two weeks to do the research, and he called his primary. Surprise! They did do it in that hospital. AND they did it faster than two weeks, so we were able to cancel the operation.

Just try and get that surgeon to tell you the whole story, so you can know where to go for a second opinion. Maybe you still need surgery, but there is peace of mind when you know your options.
