Just wondering if anyone else thinks that all this has no point except to be better off in heaven after death. As every dream or effort seems to have a selfish connection no matter what. Unless your a travelling healer preacher.

I don't know what the original plan of God was, before the fall. (It doesn't say) but because of the fall all has become meaningless.

But I would think that if there was no fall, things would be greater than one can imagine.

No,that isn't true. We are here for a reason and we have a purpose. We are here to share Gods love with others and be a Christlike example so people want to follow Him. Imagine the world without Christian influence. Most of the American colleges were began by Christians ,orphanages, missionaries, Sunday schools, hospitals many, many outreaches were begun by Christians. We are definitely here for a reason and in our lives we need to look for a reason to reach out to the lost and show them the way.

Yes, basically a travelling healer preacher. Influencing others. With no reward except after death, unless it's in god's plan in this life. Which for most Christians seems like only long suffering is planned for this life.

No reward? Ive seen loved ones come to the Lord, one on his deathbed. No reward this life gives can surpass that.Helping people in need? No reward?! I find that very rewarding. I was in ministry for 20yrs and seeing people come to the Lord, being brought out of bondage, being healed all more rewarding than anything this world can give. Im not trying to be harsh or nasty but what reward are you looking for? Can you expand on your thought?

We do have our emotional needs. It isn't that the Lord wants us to be entirely self-sacrificing, He just wants us to love him with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves.

To be clearer, you have basically listed, being a preacher and healing giving you rewards. I and millions of Christians are not healing preachers. So, no reward or positivity in living in general. You don't work in a chemical factory or other as it seems. And have not, as it seems, worked outside of church etc for 20years+. So your experience as a "normal" everyday Joe is what? And your remarking about me seeing little or no reward unless i became a traveller preacher. Please think it through. I have seemingly, no future, no rewards or known "gifts/talents". So it seems, me living is just long suffering with a few good days in between. Anyone else think this too?

You have a lousy outlook on life. Life is only as good, or as bad, as we make it be. You can influence others by being an example for Christ, sharing your testimony of Him with others.. God didn't promise us an easy, pain-free life here. But He DID promise that all the suffering we do now, WILL be worth it. So go find a better attitude. You have alot of influencing others to do. :)

Kayla isn't a preacher, nor a healer. What she is saying is, that if you just sit there like a bump on a log and expect God to drop rewards into your lap, you'll be waiting forever. Get off your duff and go out and do stuff for others. Make a difference. Ask God to show you what your talents and gifts are. :) You have them, we all do. You don't have to be a traveling healer or preacher to reap rewards from God. Now stop feeling sorry for yourself, and start being more proactive.

Well,we all hit areas of doubt. We can encourage one another at these times.

King David struggled also with this.

Read the psalm and see his anguish, his cries, his heartache, and then his REFOUND JOY AND VICTORY.

We must stay inspired and encouraged.

Go to the throne. Cry out to him. Be refreshed and encouraged . Don't ever let life steal your joy. Joy is our portion. It belongs to us. It comes from heaven.

All life, virtue, vigor, and peace come from heavenTO US.

Take what is yours my friend.

Enjoy the ride.

Without the peril, attacks, and the heartache, then the breakout into joy,our walk would be fake. No backbone.

Ride the wave. Understand your enemy is threefold.
The world
The flesh
And the devil.

Guess what? They all go down like ole goliath!!!!

Well first I havent been in ministry in 10yrs nor do I claim to have a healing ministry, that was just God moving on His people. Currently Im a stay at home wife and doing that well is rewarding for me. So Im a normal "Joe" as you say.

I did not say you need to be a preacher to have a rewarding life. I was speaking of my experience. There are people here with all types of jobs,or lack of job from illness and they still find their lives to be rewarding. They still reach out to help others and shine a light in this dark world.Life is not meaningless as a Christian, far from it.

You say you have no talents or gifts. Can you talk? Then you can share the Good News with someone. You can type, you can share your faith with someone. People suffer in life,we live in a fallen world but we can have life more abundantly when we live for the Lord. There are people here with wonderful testimonies about going through suffering and they are still able to see meaning in life. You have a purpose.God hasn't taken you home,so look for a way to do His work where you are in life. Put your focus on Him and you will see meaning in your life.

I get your point but David had God speaking to him. So a bit different than us interpreting. It's difficult enough to make a point understood here. Also letting God deal with my job, life, circumstances etc, is difficult as I'm still in these circumstances.

And someone said I should be more positive and my attitude stinks. Well, I'm not a stay at home wife or unemployed, or in cushy church job, or retired. I'm still in the crud. So yes i should have a better attitude, but it's not easy in this dismal existence so far. I mean God thought it necessary to give me a liver syndrome to stop me drinking and commuting suicide, but still I'm in this crud. Why bother stopping me if I've got to continue in a social prison society. Where everyone stays indoors and anything i like doing or want to do, i can't or am not allowed etc. Whatever. I'll just carry on with church people who have little in common except God.

That's what happens when you spend all your time thinking about yourself. It becomes selfish.

We have given you ways out. Six months later, and you're saying the same thing. It's not God. It's you. Focus on God in all things and this stops happening.

Probably because i didn't think there were only the same people writing on here with the same replies to every question.

I thought someone may actually reply to the question and not just tell me I've got to change, that's already known anyway, and unhelpful. As people don't change instantly. Especially when people on here keep saying I'm a bag of xxxx and need to change without any clue to an answer because they sit at home all day criticising everyone else. Saying i need to do more? I think most people here should actually go through some misery.

Ya know what? You're not the only person here who has a disease. I've had epileptic seizures since age 5, literally almost my entire life. I've had cancer, I have a bad back with chronic daily pain. I have life-long depression and have thought about and tried suicide more than once. I know it's not easy living with a disease, but God did NOT "think it necessary" to give you liver problems. It's how you cope with having a disease, that matters. You can let it make you stronger and bring you closer to God, or you can let it drag you down into the crud pit. For more than half a year, I was confined to bed 24/7 with sciatica and a herniated disk, which is agony beyond description. I had no one to help me, AND on top of all that, I had to take care of a terminally ill cat who threw up and pooped on the floor several times a day. A weaker person could NOT have done that on their own strength. But I had GOD'S strength, so I made it through. :) Read my testimonies, read any testimonies in that forum. You will see that God brought those people through their trials. And some were a lot more serious than what you have. I suggest you read TemporaryCircumstance's testimony. She is 14 and has had cancer TWICE, yet her user name reflects her mindset: TEMPORARY CIRCUMSTANCES. She's been through alot of other crap too, but she remains positive and doesn't wallow in the fact that all this has happened to her. She is a shining example of how someone who has gone through so much, but still remains positive and willing to share her story with others in hopes of helping THEM get through their own hard times. The only one not allowing you to get out and do stuff, is YOU. So free yourself from your wallow pit.

You don't want to change, obviously. Since the day you joined here, you've bemoaned your situation. Like Lynn said, we've given you advice and you refuse to take it. For the record, NO ONE here has called you a bag of anything. That's your own self-reflection talking. You want an answer to what's the point of living? The point is to make the BEST of the crappy lives that some of us, including you, have. And you rudely say most here need to go through some misery? HOW DARE YOU!!

Happyface is going through hell right now because her husband is dying of cancer. Joidevivre is currently battling cancer. Another member here just lost his wife to suicide. Jenniferand2 and Desertsrose are both afflicted with debilitating sciatica. Depleted has her own health problems, in addition to caring for her husband who had a heart attack last year, and spent most of that year in the hospital, with setback after setback.

And then there is you. You sit there, feeling sorry for yourself thinking God gave you a meaningless life. And not doing a dang thing to change your circumstances. And you have the audacity to say WE need to go through misery?! Instead of beeching and moaning, go hunt down Happyface on the prayer thread, and tell her you're praying for her and her husband, because he doesn't have much time left here. Send Joidevivre a PM saying you're thinking of her and wish her well. Find Jennifer, Depleted and Desertsrose and tell them that you sympathize with their plights. And for the love of God, stop being so darn selfish!!!

Perspective is everything. Everyone thinks they have it worse in life than others. A cushy church job I did not have. I traveled many, many miles. I wont go into the details of the actual work. But within those years I lost both my grandmothers to cancer.I lost my aunt who was 43yrs old to stomach cancer. My cousins husband was shot by his own son in a hunting accident. I have issues with chronic sickness. All this while still traveling on the road for over half the year away from home. I would visit the hospital and then have to go and minister in churches with a loved one sick in the hospital.Once again you dont anything about a persons life by looking from the outside.

God didn't give you a sickness.Thats part of living in a fallen world. Many people deal with illness, many here do but still see purpose in life.

What is it that you cant do that you want to do? What is stopping you or not allowing you to do what you want?

As I said,if everyone here shared their testimony you'd understand that people here have been through crud too. People are trying to encourage you.
