I just want to have a daughter and Father relationship with God but I was a perfectionist and I deal with ocd thoughts like bad thoughts that are not me thinking God doesnt want me and it is not easy. This mind thing makes me feel God doesnt want me. I feel i have to be perfect. I need help in understanding how to have a intimate relationship with God wish this ocd would leave so I can have a loving relationship with God :((((((((
***sorry to answer this late***ignore these thoughts and say " God is my Father and loves me"***when thoughts come against this truth reject and ignore them, for it is the truth (God loves you), your feelings are lying to you...

fascinating to find there is someone with my problems,I have a quote"father" but hes a bum and against god though he pretends he cares for god so I know the feeling of not having a decent father figure now I just try to do right for god and he in turn strengthens me with resolve and wisdom and yep im a tad perfectionist and I constantly dont sleep great but when I do it helps me calm down from random thoughts as you described it bugs me too to have so many weird dumb or random thoughts conjoin ive found that focusing your mind on cheery stuff helps to not spiral out of control like on top of being a slight perfectionist I have an extensive and accurate memory that allows me to recall nearly any movie, song, or game ive viewed or played so my best way to deal with all this is to just think of a funny or happy scene or song and play it over and over in my head so that im in control overall of what I think of instead of worrying too much and as far as a father relationship with god just try to think on that god is patient and no one is perfect and you can always ask for his help with prayer for all of us cannot go through life alone and with god we are never alone and he loves you just the way you are so dont worry about change more of think of what in your life to rearrange and god will not leave you so dont fear that just do your best for him and youll do him proud the first step is letting go of control and letting god guide you instead of you trying to do everything yourself then and only then can you establish a father relationship with god for you are his child so let him help you and guide you and youll let go of the past and embrace a bright future whilst walking alongside god all the way though true enough you must believe on his son that he is your savior then as it written shall it come to pass that all that believeth on jesus' name is a new creation the old is past the new is come so in the end youll have both a loving brother and a just father.

Our earthly fathers are an important source of our genetic makeup. But God is the ultimate source of our lives. He knew us before we were conceived and formed us in the womb.

To know ourselves in Christ, we must realize we too died on that Cross with Jesus Christ, "I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live but Christ now lives in me, and the life I now live in the body I live thru Christ......" know that you have been made innocent, thru believing in Him on a cross that boar your sins and has risen at the right hand of the Father making your relationship with the Father possible in purity.. Now, to be intimate God has sent the Holy Spirit for you to live, not by the flesh any longer, but by our spirit connected to God, thru Christ Jesus. So, we need to get under His pouring waters of life.

You need to intentionalize pray, intend to read His Word, by hearing, reading, studying and applying, and memorizing, and meditating on the Bible, all the while staying in fellowship with other believers, as we spur one another on toward love and good deeds, and let what God puts in you to be testified with your mouth to those who also need Him....The "Abba, Father" (or close) experience will naturally come as you get to know Him better and better, so just start planting your roots in Him, by jumping with both feet into the pool; namely Jesus Christ... and He will finish His Workmanship in you to completion.

I understand the difficulty in trying to understand what our heavenly father is like when our earthly fathers fall short of being the father we needed. I came from a home where my father was an alcoholic and abusive, so it has been difficult for me to wrap my head around who our heavenly father is and that he loves me. It took a lot of reading the word, praying and listening to sermons, to get to the point where I was even able to remotely believe that our heavenly father is good and would never hurt me and that he loves all of me unconditionally, no matter what. I encourage you to read anything you can both in the Bible and from Christian authors on the topics of who God is (specifically the gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), and books like "The Search for Significance" by Robert McGee. Some of my favorite scriptures are Zephaniah 3:17, Jeremiah 31:3. John 1:12, Jeremiah 29:11 and Ephesians 1. Praying that the Lord meets you on your journey to Him as you continually seek Him. God Bless!
