Fairly sexual question... but it's been playing on my mind.

He's not asking about sex before marriage. He was asking whether it would be best to use BC during their marriage.

Personally, I cast my vote in favor of letting God manage conception. People were around long before reliable BC, and got along just fine. If he cares for the flowers of the field and the birds of the air how much more will he care for the children he blesses you with?

Rofl, I'm all for BC. My parents haven't led me much in this, since after the 4th kid my mom got a problem and had to have some surgery that kept her from having more kids, I was like 10 at the time so I honestly don't remember.

But as far as planning, I'm totally for that. Heck, I would think that if you're using birth control and have a kid anyway, it's God saying "Ok, you WILL have kids" lol. I mean, NOT using BC and expecting God to keep you childless until you're ready is like jumping into a fire expecting God to put a fireman's suit on you on you're way in, unless you're perfectly capable of dealing with the fire on you're own -.-

If you aren't ready for a child, use birth control-don't add to the statistics. My opinion,of course.

It's all good. I'm blessed that I don't have cancer or anything. Its just asthma. :) I haven't given up faith I realize if Jesus wants to heal me he will, but I also don't want to be like Jesus heals and not use my inhaler. That's why we have a brain so we can have common sense.
Hi freind-ashtma is a spirit of fear-if you let that fear go,you can be healed.....I've seen this in my ex-wife (healed from asthma 10 years ago) with prayer at a healing crusade.

I don't believe that being burnt in a fire can be used as a suitable analogy for having children. Children are always a blessing and should never be spoken of as though they are an undesirable consequence or an unfortunate by-product of having sex.

Yes, but look at this... Isn't sex a wonderful thing? It was made by God, and it is great. But does that mean there are situations where sex itself is comparable to fire? Yes ~_o Of course, it's not EXACTLY the same as a kid, but you can fit a lot of different things into this scenario. "X is great and wonderful, except in the case of Y, where it CAN be destructive."

I understand what you're saying, but I'm positing that a child being conceived is always a good thing no matter what the circumstances are, and so the analogy doesn't work in this instance.

The child is not evil, though the presence of the child may not be the best thing in the world to happen to them. For instance, candy. It isn't bad, and it's very sweet, and a good thing. But if you have candy, say, BEFORE supper, then it can "ruin your appetite" for the real meal. Also, if you have TOO MUCH candy, then you will get fat.

See the analogies to children here? Don't have kids before you're ready to support them. Don't have too many kids, because you won't be able to support them. The child itself is wonderful, but the situation just doesn't always call for a child.
