I would be more concerned if he/she did not ask questions. I find what you are going through, as a wonderful time to plant good seeds. Here is a poem I wrote.

YOU ARE PROOF
You prove that God exist,
A living parable to be seen,
For if God did not speak of you,
I would not know what he means.
For everything you do or say,
You're an example of his truth,
That is all I need to know,
That you're his living proof!

Hi Minecraft, are you the kid or the parent because your profile's age is 13. If you have a kid at 13 surely he can't be old enough to ask these intelligent questions?
Kid is obviously a quick learner. Learned how to talk before he learned how to walk.

This month he's an atheist, next month he'll be a vegan. Kids go through phases. Get an easy to read study bible and you and him can have daily bible study. Next year, he'll want to be a preacher. Not to worry, he'll grow out of that phase also.
Of course long range it is hard to know where anyone is going to end up, and I was a non-believer for many years of my adult life, though never an atheist. Still, for many atheists it is not just a phase for them. The site I joined about five years ago but rarely even look at any more has many of the same atheists making their entrenched positions known again and again. Some of them are quite sophisticated in their hardheartedness toward God. They have made idols of people like Richard Dawkins...

I've read it. Still don't conclude Jesus and God are the same entity.
Well can you please explain to me what your definition of a Christian is? That always helps to define our terms. To you what exactly makes a Christian a Christian? How does one become a Christian in your understanding, and Jesus claims to be God in the bible you've read.

John 8:58 Jesus claim’s “before Abraham was “I AM”,” and the Jews didn’t misunderstand what He said because they picked up stones to stone Him.

Again in John 10:33 Jesus is speaking with Jews holding stones ready to throw them at Him, and He says “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone Me?”, and they answered "We're stoning you not for any good work, but for blasphemy! You, a mere man, claim to be God.", this was right after Jesus makes the claim “I and the Father are one.” Seems pretty clear Jesus was at least claiming to be God. If you say He’s not saying this here then was He lying in this verse?

In Mark 14:61 Jesus is ask “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”, to which Jesus answered in 14:62 “I am,” said Jesus, “and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
Now in this one I can understand how it seems like He only says He is the "Son", but with a little thought we can make the reasonable deduction that the “Son” of God would have all the attributes of His Father, God, and besides the fact that all of Judaism and Jesus Himself have always proclaimed and worshiped 1 God, that it logically follows that Jesus was in incarnation of that 1 God on earth.

The Trinity will always hold some level of mystery to us this side of eternity no doubt, but when the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] part of God fills us, forever changing us and reconciling us to our creator because of the price paid on the cross by the name above all names Jesus Christ, it helps us to star to grasp the idea, and puts us one step closer to understanding this.

These are the times He claims to be God, but there are more examples of Him displaying the attributes of God, and many times when the disciples claim He is God as well. Jesus is God man, and 1 of the 3 persons that make up the triune Godhead.

There I've laid out the start of what and why I believe Jesus is God. I am very curious to hear from you the answer to my first question about what you say makes one a Christian, and more than that exactly who you believe Jesus is and why.

okay , then what about the trinity ? i cant explain the doctrine to my child , i have difficulity explaining x=a,y=a, x!=y .
thanks for the answer .
Well, okay then.

First, do you want your "kid" to go around the Internet and make profiles for you? If not, seems silly you did that for your kid.

Second, if you don't know enough to teach your kid, why are you surprised your kid is an atheist?

Third, I'm not buying any of this!

He can't. Kind of why I tend to not bother with him.

have you not read the Bible?
Ha! Didn't fool me. I read your answer without bothering to learn who wrote it. Then I was scrolling down, and a thought hit me. "Wow! That looks like Jaime!" Then I scrolled back up. Ha! Figured out it was you before even reading your name. lol

You said that you don't read anywhere in the bible, that Jesus is God. IF you (general you) believe that, then how can you possibly be a Christian? Cuz it don't make sense to only believe that Jesus is Jesus, but not God and the HS also..

Sorry I have taken so long to respond, I've been at work all day.

Damm, y'all act like I just denied the divinity of Christ. I just don't believe God and Jesus are the same entity. All through the red ink of my bible, Jesus refers to God as his father. He never says he is God. Many times does the New Testament state that Christ is seated to the righy hand of God. If they were the same, why would it say that? Jesus prayed to God, and even cried out to God asking why he had been forsaken when he was on the cross.
Jesus is the son of God and called God his father. It's all written in plain English.
Sorry, I'm just not convinced of this notion that was created several hundred years after Jesus ascended to Heaven.

Yeah, I didn't believe you were a Christian either when I joined this site, with some of the advice you were giving, but after prayer and deep thought, I learned that wasn't my call to make.

I understand you...I am intrigued with "What ever you ask in my son's name!', instead of "Whatever you ask in my name!"
Than when Jesus said "Pray like this, our Father" There is not pray to me like this. When Jesus talks about being God, I see things like this...We were given to Jesus, which makes me his, and God. When Jesus said he was one with God, I see him saying is being the same in everything. Still learning though, so I will hear out anyone, but do research on each have said.

I can understand your points too, but I also feel Jesus took our limitations of understanding into account. There are also many times when His early followers addressed Him as God, and I would never pretend to understand the Trinity completely, but when you take the bible as a whole, when you consider the whole picture, it leaves no room to doubt Jesus is God, the Father is God, and the Spirit is God. Seeing as how from the very beginning the Jews and Jesus have proclaimed 1 God then the conclusion is??? That's why from the apostles to the early church fathers, to this very day Christians proclaim 3 persons, 1 God. Yes it's beyond our limited scope, but there is a very good reason that is taught.
