I think the lyrics sum up the comparison with men perfectly. :p
Lyrics can be found at this link below;

Shirley Bassey - Diamonds Are Forever Lyrics | MetroLyrics

In response to the lyrics, although a diamond may never leave you, they can be stolen, get misplaced, and just plain lost.

What good love is? Romantic love? That comes and goes. Christ's love.. real love.. that is forever.

1 Corinthians 13:1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.[SUP] 2 [/SUP]And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.[SUP] 4 [/SUP]Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,[SUP] 5 [/SUP]Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;[SUP] 6 [/SUP]Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;[SUP] 7 [/SUP]Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]Charity never faileth:........

So women who has a diamond and yet have not love, have nothing really at all.

Just as a guy who gives a woman a diamond and yet have not love, has not given her anything at all.

People seek & value the everyday necessities of this life, but we all need to lift our sights higher when this world is passing away with the lust thereof.

Matthew 6:[SUP]32 [/SUP](For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.[SUP] 33 [/SUP]But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.[SUP]34 [/SUP]Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Colossians 3:1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.[SUP] 2 [/SUP]Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.[SUP] 4 [/SUP]When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.[SUP] 5 [/SUP]Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:[SUP] 6 [/SUP]For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:[SUP] 7 [/SUP]In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.[SUP] 9 [/SUP]Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;[SUP]10 [/SUP]And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:[SUP] 11 [/SUP]Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.[SUP] 12 [/SUP]Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;[SUP] 13 [/SUP]Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts done in a light hearted manner;).

Where is the option for, "I'm Too Cheap To Own a Real Diamond"?

Personally, I'm not interested in owning anything that requires a larger insurance policy than I do.

When I was married, my engagement ring was a cubic zirconia that wa taken from a ring that I already owned. We went to a jeweler, had them put it in a better-quality gold band, and the whole shebang cost about $100.

It sparkled in the light just as well, if not better, than a "real" diamond, and I totally loved it.

If I ever got married again, I would probably choose another CZ.
Thanks for sharing. :D

May you trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your Good Shepherd to guide you in His words for everyday decisions.

If you ever take up a personal time for Bible reading, feel free to read 1 Corinthians 5th, 6th, and 7th chapter.

Thanks again for sharing.

Where's the option that the value of a diamond in jewelry is actually fake. In fact, Rubies, in reality are far more valuable because they have far more uses, not to mention actually hold up under fire without being specially treated. And, Diamonds are the most gaudiest piece of jewel. Give me a sapphire any day.

I'll admit, I do want a diamond. However, I wouldn't mind if it's small. I would think to myself "if he can't afford to get me a diamond, then could he afford a family?"
As a man i would say 'if she requires me to spend a lot of money on a ring, what else does she expect to spend a lot on?'. Men will work hard to provide for a family, men would typically be less willing to work as hard to pay for a needless excess like an expensive ring that is expected of them.

You know how guys say it's biological for them to be attracted to certain features in a woman (symmetrical faces, attractive body, long hair etc.) ...it's the same for women. But we look at different things like status, financial means, height. We want to feel safe with them. I'm not saying we're gold diggers, but I would say most women want a man that will be a good provider. The ring is one of the first confirmations that he can.
There may be some truth here, but that does not mean a woman is required to simply accept that and abide by it. And it often makes a convenient excuse for women to have an unhealthy focus on the materialistic side of things, much like how a man can be too caught up in women who may look good, but have little else to offer. Both mindsets, while perhaps somewhat natural, are unhealthy if not kept in check.
Many women that marry men that can afford more 'things' often end up divorced and finding out they are much happier with a man that makes significantly less. Many times women think they want one thing, but once they get it, they find it's not what they expected.
All to frequently the reason a man can afford more is because he works more. Which means he will be devoted to his job first. He may provide financially, but in all other areas he fails his wife and family. How willing are you to risk a distant husband and barely there father that provides well, over a man that can't afford as much, but is around and attentive and a good father?

I see you found that option. #40 for Other. :D

What is more valued than sapphire in according to the scripture?

Proverbs 3:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.[SUP] 15 [/SUP]She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.[SUP] 16 [/SUP]Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.[SUP] 17 [/SUP]Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.[SUP]18 [/SUP]She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Thank you for sharing. Just thought I expound on that with a side note.

I know the Lord values pearls because each of the 12 gates of New Jerusalem will be made out of pearls, and even the streets made out of pure gold, but wisdom from the Lord is more valued still.:D

Revelation 21:13On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.....And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

If I ever get married, I'd like a diamond engagement ring. But as for being my best friend? I'd have a fiancee by that time, so the diamond wouldn't have a chance :D.

I chose other. The "Jesus is my best friend" while true, is a phrasing I don't care to use since I feel it cheapens the amazing sacrifice He made and how amazing that really was. But quibbling with usage of words aside, I almost picked that one :)

I think diamonds are rather plain and boring!

I prefer sapphires or amethist. Or even turquoise or amber is better and a fraction
of the price. :D

The true gem is a godly man's soul and heart. And when you have got a glimps of that... Every need and want of diamonds and pearls will fade. I have met only one man like that. They are truely rare.

Well, I think there is a difference between testifying that Jesus is your Best Friend to testifying that you are Jesus's best friend. See, in that way, you are referring to that sacrifice.

John 15:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

1 John 4:[SUP]19 [/SUP]We love him, because he first loved us.

Yes, He is our God & Saviour, but nothing is more personal than claiming Him for what He is.. our Best friend.

Your avatar says it all. A diamond certainly cannot be of any value in times where God is needed and He is with us always.

Can you cut glass with those other gems? I know a diamond can.

But I was thinking that what you wear could bring out the plain and boring diamond to sparkle more. Maybe navy blue dress?

Course in Heaven, the light of Christ in us will be shining and giving brighter light way more than the sun. Imagine that.

Revelation 21:[SUP]21 [/SUP]And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. [SUP]22 [/SUP]And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. [SUP]23 [/SUP]And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. [SUP]24 [/SUP]And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

Revelation 22:[SUP] [/SUP]And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: [SUP]4 [/SUP]And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Isaiah 60:[SUP]19 [/SUP]The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. [SUP]20 [/SUP]Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. [SUP]21 [/SUP]Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

Colossians 1:[SUP]10 [/SUP]That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; [SUP]11 [/SUP]Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; [SUP]12 [/SUP]Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: [SUP]13 [/SUP]Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Matthew 13:[SUP]43 [/SUP]Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

I believe Matthew 13:24 is where I had actually gotten that notion even though it pertains to Christ's the firstfruits taken at the pre trib rapture event, but those left behind will be in His light in the kingdom of God on earth after the great tribulation which also includes those generations coming out of the millennium reign of Christ wherein Christ will be their light as well.

Jesus Christ is better than any gem or precious metal for sure.[SUB][SUP]
