[SUP]The title is from Proverbs 15, which although very popular, is one where i have not heard that much preaching or teaching recently. I put this in the family forum, thinking more of the wife and mothers' roles and priorities in the home. Do Cc mothers here really get up before daylight... and work late at night? How do u balance outside work (if any),[/SUP][SUP] ministry, and family life and responsibilities?

[/SUP][SUP]Proverbs 31 15 [/SUP]She gets up before daylight... [SUP]18[/SUP]and works late into the night.[SUP]

I encourage wives and mothers to post, but all are welcome to share what you have seen or heard from ur own parents, or others. Some may have noticed i sometimes mention being so sleepy part of the day, not because i worked late into the night, but we do have to start the day very early=)... I really would appreciate others' experiences and insights on this. Thanks in advance.

I have noticed that woman are not immune to the falling ethics and morality in the USA. And why should they be? "As in the days of Noah..."
We are there, or almost there.
Our Lord did not distinguish between men and woman when He made that statement.

So if a man has found a proverbs 31 woman you have come across a rare jewel and a vanishing breed.

If a woman finds a man of noble character, likewise.

"Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

10[b]A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life"

My days start at 5:30 in the morning, every day but Saturday. I have one kid in school 4 days a week, and one who starts school next fall. My husband is out the door by 4:30 a.m. five days a week- weekdays are my “work” days. Coffee, Bible study, getting kids ready, time online, and then getting one kid to school is all done before 8:00. From then until 7:30 at night, is when I do at home preschool with my daughter, do the housework, run the errands, take care of animals, fix the meals, organize things like meal plans or schedules...Sundays and other times we go to church are a whole other level of busy.

The kids go to bed at 7:30. My husband and I spend our evenings together, and he is asleep by 9 p.m. It’s common for me to be up later, to read, pray, write, or just have a little time where nobody needs me.

I love serving both God and my family in this way- let’s be clear on that. It’s difficult sometimes to do so selflessly. Some days I get nothing done. Some days I can’t get myself out of bed until 6, 6:30. And there are nights when I fall asleep by 8:30. But yes, overall, I am up and working before first light, and still up and busy well past sunset.

Work days up at 4:15 am. These days are extremely busy. It is usually dark when I get home. I take a shower, eat and then my wife and I have our daily devotion of bible reading, reading a daily devotional, study on a particular biblical topic and prayer.

I think the summation of Proverbs 31 says it best.

Proverbs 31:20-31: "She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates." :)

I appreciate the replies. It is just that the time when i have some minutes to drop by cc, i am really still groggy. But when i am fully awake, that is very limited and so cannot interact in the forums more=).

To mention, i just got a pm from someone who is starting the day at 3 am. I wish she'd tell more how she deals w/ the long days.

You sound like a Proverb 31 woman.
