I guess I'm a hopeless romantic deep inside. I love love stories.
It makes me happy to hear the stories of my parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles when i ask them how did they met? how did their first kiss go down? first date? how did they get engaged? when did you know you fell in love? etc etc.

i would love to hear your stories too. not only are they stories that are happy and joyful, but they also bring encouragement to me, and im sure others, that one day we will have a happy story to add ourselves. the world today is so full of meaningless relationships and divorce, that its so great to hear successful stories.

i hope you will share your stories so that i and others can be reminded that there is hope for good relationships, especially those focused around Christ. i can assure you that i will thoroughly enjoy reading them if you do chose to post. :)

i guess we're outta luck. no one wants to share. lol
I was in the Navy in Jacksonville, FL and I would go to the USO every Friday night for the dances. I met this girl that I really liked but she would notgo out on a date unless her best friend came with her, so I talked another sailor to go out with us on a double-date. We dated for about two months before my ship was deployed.

One of the traditions on a hip that is being deployed is for the sailors to "man the rail" by linining up shoulder to shoulder at parade rest along the side of the ship as it is being loosed from it's moorings. When the last line is dropped and before the tugs begin to push, the sailors will attemt to throw their whit hats to their wives or girl friends.

Since I was not serious about this girl i had been dating, I just threw my hat towards the peir. I completely forgot about it until nine and a half months later when we returned from our deployment. I was surprised to find the double date girl standing at the foot of the gangway with my white hat. She had pickedit up and had washed it and bleached it at least once a month for the past nine months.

To make a long story short, we celebrated our forty-second anniversary this past December.

In Christ,
John

That is such a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it, and God bless you and your wife.

I was only one year in Christ. One year out from being a full blown schizophrenic. I met her in Sunday School at a new church. No one knew me and I was trying to hide my struggle with mental illness. She made me feel better. It took me a year and a nervous breakdown to tell her the truth. She became my greatest ally and confidante. We have been married for thirty-four years. She was God's great gift to me. The mental illness is just a murmur in the background now. I honestly believe that if God had not brought her into my life, I would have been institutionalized.

Every cloud has a silver lining you just have to train yourself to see it.
