I just got baptized and I don't get it... everything was fine prior to that we were all happy as a family, but since then we have had some major stuggles in the family... It's like I am under attack? Is this normal for a New Christian who becomes baptized... shouldn't there be a peace? I am so confused. Please ALL you Christian that have been baptized or are familiar with this issue respond I need to know why this is happening and how to get it to STOP! I want peace restored in our families life and not turmoil? My daughter got baptized at the exact time as me and we argue... she is 14 any advice on coping mechanisms? HELP...SOS...

The only thing that you can do is starting praying together as a family and tell satan that you are covered by the blood. and yes your daughter is at the age that satan will try to use her by telling her you don't under stand what she is going thru. and yes becoming a new christian he will attack you and your family because you are doing something right and it is what God wants . I will be praying for you and your family also at night sit down and read the bible together.

I am also a new baptized christian and I'm also experiencing similar problems. I haven't change abit from who I use to be. Same old ...habits...attitude; I pray about it every day and I still can't resist. I can only say keep praying and keep the faith. I'll pray that we will rise above it all.

The more you surround your life with the things of God...and leave behind the things of the world, Satan will work overtime to try to cause you to stumble and to pull away from God.

There are a number of songs that talk about keeping focus during the REALLY rough times...
Mercy me: Jesus Bring the Rain
Casting Crowns: Praise you in the storm.

and there are many more.

In adversity...run to the cross! You will make it through this valley. The view from the mountaintop will be just magnificent....just you wait! :)

Take care

Satan only attacks those he believes will be a threat to him. When a person accepts christ, he takes every oppritunity to try and bring them down. Look at it this way: if that old devil is after you, it means he's scared because you're winning. God has your back, so just remind that deciever of his fate, and keep the faith in joy and peace! God loves you! :D

well wouldn't common sense tell you that once you turn from your walk with the devil and start a walk with God, that the devil would raise up against you. he doesn't want anyone to have any joy. Most folks will say that the only thing the devil can take from you now that you are saved is your joy. But this is not true he can also steal your service to the Lord. See most folks would say, Lord I thought you were all about family, so why would you allow the devil to come between me and my family. Or even some might say Lord my walk with you is not worth me losing my family. But Jesus said
Mt 19:29And every one that hath FORSAKEn houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Lu 14:25And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,Lu 14:26If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.Lu 14:27And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.Lu 14:28For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

Alot of people are just thinking about numbers they get as many saved and then they just throw them out to the roaring lion
1pe 5:8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a ROARING LION, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

they never ask you to consider the cost of a sincere walk with God. if they told you to call upon the name of the Lord, they should have told you that then there becomes a Lordship, if you called upon the name of the Lord. you must make Him Lord, regarless of the cost to you, if your Lord tells you to go to the front of the battlefield and fight for Him then you must go, even though it could mean your life. see Christ gave His life for you now you must live your life for Him. no one ever told me this either, it costed me my daughter whom God called Home at nineteen years old. We must put God first in our life above all else, yes even our family. we can't have the Burger King religion ( have it your way ). we now have a Lord guilding our paths. however if we truely make Him Lord of of life then He will fight our battles for us, He will be our strength in times of trouble, He will be our mother, our father, our children, He will be our Brother, He will be our Friend who sticketh closer than a brother. Now Jesus doesn't really want us to hate our father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also but we must be willing to put Him above these things. If we can do this then He said
Ro 8:17And if children, then HEIRS; HEIRS of God, and JOINT-HEIRS with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

God never promised us a rose garden if we call upon Him for our salvation. But He did Promised that He would always be with us, never leave nor forsake us. and alot of folks never accept this part of the promise and suffer all their life.
Joh 14:12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

If we become joint heirs with Christ then we receive what Jesus received as the Son of God. Jesus didn't need salvation, don't limit your inheritance through your adoption as His Brother or sister, just to your salvation. He had the power to remain faithful to God no matter what the cost, He gave His Life. He had power to be obedient To His God, The Father, walked a perfect life. He had authority over the powers of darkness and the powers to resist these powers, even though they bound Him with death, hell and the grave. His Father raised Him above all these things that He might not ever die again. I had the devil tell me one time that he was going to take everything I had even my home, I told him to go ahead if he wanted everything i had he could have them, for one thing He is a lair, I knew he didn't want everything I had , he only wanted to bow before Him and beg him not to take all that I had. But I said it won't do any good if you take them for I will still have my Jesus. I still have my home and my family, and God is looking after our oldest daughter for us and keeping her real safe. So the one thing that I have learned in life and want to share with you is:
When we get down and we learn that Jesus is all we have, we learn that Jesus is all we need.

as concerning a teenager we will prayer for you, haha! No I messed up on my teenagers so I can tell you what not to do. don't become a control freak, they will be leaving the nest soon ( before you know it anyhow), they need to have some control so they will be ready when they do leave. let them have some responsibility if they want to do something and you don't want them to, try and show them both side of the issue let them decide, yeah they will make the wrong discission , but so you did too, at that age. and you came out alright. But I think the most important thing at fourtenn is to realize they need a true friend now. They think they know everything, Just let them know that you love them no matter what, and that if they ever need anything , that you will be there. Preacher sound like you would be letting them have their way, is this really good advice. well God this this for you at one time, are you not now trying to be the child that He always wanted. Just as we learn from our relatioship with our heavenly Father, it is not about rebellion, it's not about love or lack of it, they don't hate you when they rebell. it is all about control, you have always had it up to this point, and now they want it. if you can give it up alittle at a time it will be best for both parties. Now this is in the flesh because both parties are in the flesh, But we should always allow God to keep control in our lives, for even as parents we don't know the Big picture for our Children as God knows the big picture for us. and hang on to this promise from God Pr 22:6TRAIN up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Its not always easy when you move forward with GOD, the attacts come, persecution, and struggles. I practice daily to give my life and will over to GOD, since he is in control. At times I face the same question is this how its gonna be serving GOD instead of I would evently face that issue one way or another but I don't have to do it alone. As for your daughter, I have two and they are teenagers now. And my oldest one struggles with outbusrst at times and wanting to run away and leave the house at night, and I would fight her and tell her no and that something bad may happend. Because she was kidnapped at 12. So I became a very controlling mother and worried that I would lose her. One day, I just said GOD I cannot stop her, and I put her in your hands and watch over her. Then I turned to her and said so you are gonna go out and not come home O.K. 3 rules, no guys, no drinking or drugs, and be home by dark. Then I told her see you later. And that I love her and the decision was hers. I had victory. She never left that night, she was at peace, and treated everyone with love that night. I cried and thanked GOD for giving me the wisdom to handle it as a parent and an adult. What I learned was the greatest thing, I don't have control, and she is preparing to be an adult and has to make her own choices to continue to grow, And that GOD helped me there and then through it.

You know what you said hit a cord with me... I've beeen under such attac since baptism 4 weeks ago. I picked up a book bt Joyce Meyer caled "Battlefield Of The Mind", Its helped me realize that we have the choice to turn negative situations into positive outcomes.....as for being a mom...yes thats our job...as for being an adult well thats our responsibility and thats what struck me.... I am learning to do the same and like you it seems to be slowly working. Thanks for sharing your story. God Bless you and keep you.

Your right I also have just come to the realization that my teen is now 17 and wants to slowly take control and responsibility for her actions and life. I have raised her right. She like me will make mistakes, prehaps like me wonder off the path of Gods ways, but I need to let go and let God and trust that he will NEVER leave her nor FORSAKE her... Soon she will turn 18 and be an adult and as I look at her I am realizing more and more I am projecting my own fears and misjudments onto her and she is NOT me...she is her own child in God. So thanks Pastor its just what I needed confirmed. God Bless you.

Yes, after being paptisted the "battle" becomes harder and harder. This is the point since that we CAN realise: the sin is sin.
Of course satan interests in us much better.
Solution: stronger and stronger CONNECTION with Jesus Chrise ! -for example by praying. / It's also an advice for me too!! /
I heart: coal becomes coal not because of million years, but MAINLY because of very big pressure.
Certainly it hurts, but it means: You are on the right way.

First of all I had to realize that the Battle is the Lord's and it is when we turn it over to him completely that he will surely glorify himself in it. It really seems hard sometimes that when we find ourselves in the heat of it all we must step back and say Lord it is yours.....Glorify yourself in this. We wind up in situations that we had no choice being in and it is there that I have seen his glory so many times. Go to utube and type in jeremycampliveunpluggedwalkbyfaith and give it a listen ....it is about 9 minutes long but you will hear an amazing testimony as well as the song and the story behind the song. Read Jeremiah 29 vs 11 .....it was written for you! I pray Blessings on you all and your children and your generations to come.
I was Baptized at the age of 8 and have been through many battles over the years.....but I can say it has been the most awesome place to be , especially when you have the Lord as your intercessor.
