The Devil & the Duck

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm.
He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods.
He practiced in the woods; but he could never hit the target.
Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner.
As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck.
Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved!
In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile; only to see his Sister watching! Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing.
After lunch the next day Grandma said, 'Sally, let's wash the dishes'
But Sally said, 'Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen.'
Then she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?'
So Johnny did the dishes.
Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said, 'I'm sorry but I need Sally to help make supper.'
Sally just smiled and said, 'well that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help?
She whispered again, 'Remember the duck?' So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.
After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's; he finally couldn't stand it any longer.
He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck.
Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug and said, 'Sweetheart, I know.. You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing, but because I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you.'

Thought for the day and every day thereafter:
Whatever is in your past, whatever you have done... And the devil keeps throwing it up in your face (lying, cheating, debt, fear, bad habits, hatred, anger, bitterness, etc.)....whatever it is...You need to know that:
God was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing.
He has seen your whole life.... He wants you to know that He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave of you.
The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness; He not only forgives you, but He forgets.
It is by God's grace and mercy that we are saved.
Go ahead and make the difference in someone's life today.
Share this with a friend and always remember:
God is at the window!
When Jesus died on the cross; he was thinking of you!

Happy Easter!

The Garbage Truck
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right
lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My
taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches!

The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi
driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked,
'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'

This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage,
full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they
need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.
Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to
other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.
Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so... love the people who treat
you right. Pray for the ones who don't.

--------------4 Seasons----------------

Don't judge a life by one difficult season.
There was a man who had 4 sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.
The first son went in the winter, the second in spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.
The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no,-it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed, he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful; it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.
The man then explained to this sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but one season in the tree's life. He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are-and the pleasure, joy and love that comes from that life-can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when its winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.
Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

THE FERN AND THE BAMBOO
One day I decided to quit...I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality. . I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"

His answer surprised me.

"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. The same in year four.

"Then in the fifth year, a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.

Compared to the fern, it was seemingly small and insignificant.

But just six months later, the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.

"Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots? I would not quit on the bamboo.. I will never quit on you.

"Don't compare yourself to others." He said. "The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful.

"Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high"

"How high should I rise?" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.

"As high as it can?" I questioned "Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest, realizing that God will never give up on me. And He will never give up on you.

Never regret a day in your life.

Good days give you happiness; bad days give you experiences; both are essential to life.

Malachi 3:3 says:
"He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.
One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true thathe had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.
The man answered that yes,he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"
He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy --when I see my image in it."
If today you are feeling the heat of the fire , rememberthat God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

wow those are awesome. here's another one :)

"The lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear?"

IT IS STRANGE ISN'T IT....

Isn't it strange how
a 20 dollar bill seems like such a
large amount
when you donate it to church,
but such a
small amount
when you go shopping?
Isn't it strange how
2 hours seem so long when you're at church,
and how short
they seem when you're watching
a good movie?
Isn't it strange
that you can't find a word to say when you're praying
but..
you have no trouble thinking what to
talk about with a friend?
Isn't it strange how
difficult and boring it is to read one chapter
of the Bible but
how easy it is to read 100
pages of a popular novel or
ZANE GREY book?
Isn't it strange how
everyone wants front-row-tickets to
concerts or games
but they do whatever is possible
to sit at the last row in Church?
Isn't it strange
how we need to know about an
event for Church 2-3 weeks
before the day
so we can include it in our agenda,
but we can adjust it for other events
in the last minute?
Isn't it strange how
difficult it is to learn a
fact about God to share it with others;
but how easy it is
to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?
Isn't it strange how
we believe everything that magazines and
newspapers say but...
we question the
words in the Bible?
Isn't it strange how
everyone wants a place in heaven but...
they don't want to believe, do,
or
say anything to get there?
It's strange, isn't it?

Making Pancakes
Six -year-old Brandon decided one Saturday morning to fix his
parents pancakes. He found a big bowl and spoon, pulled a chair
to the counter, opened the cupboard and pulled out the heavy
flour canister, spilling it on the floor.
He scooped some of the flour into the bowl with his hands, mixed in most of a
cup of milk and added some sugar, leaving a floury trail on the floor which by
now had a few tracks left by his kitten.
Brandon was covered with flour and getting frustrated He wanted this to be
something very good for Mom and Dad, but it was getting very bad.

He didn't know what to do next, whether to put it all into the oven or on the
stove and he didn't know how the stove worked!. Suddenly he saw his kitten
licking from the bowl of mix and reached to push her away, knocking the egg
carton to the floor. Frantically he tried to clean up this monumental mess but
slipped on the eggs, getting his pajamas white and sticky.
And just then he saw Dad standing at the door Big crocodile tears welled up in
Brandon's eyes. All he'd wanted to do was something good, but he'd made a
terrible mess. He was sure a scolding was coming, maybe even a spanking. But his father just watched him.

Then, walking through the mess, he picked up his crying son, hugged him and
loved him, getting his own pajamas white and sticky in the process!
That's how God deals with us. We try to do something good in life, but it turns
into a mess. Our marriage gets all sticky or we insult a friend, or we can't stand our job, or our health goes sour.
Sometimes we just stand there in tears because we can't think of anything else to do. That's when God picks us up and loves us and forgives us, even though some of our mess gets all over Him.
But just because we might mess up, we can't stop trying to "make pancakes" for God or for others. Sooner or later we'll get it right, and then they'll be glad we tried...

I was thinking. .. and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that need rekindling or three words needing to be said, sometimes, "I love you" can heal & bless! Remind every one of your friends that you love them. Even if you think they don't love back, you would be amazed at what those three little words, a smile, and a reminder like this can do. Suppose one morning you were called to God; do all your friends know you love them?

Never stop "making pancakes."

Satan had just departed
from the Garden of Eden, and he was
gloating and boasting.

"Yes, sir, I just caught
a World full of people down there. I
set me a trap and used a little bait.
I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em
all!"

"What are you going to
do with them?" Jesus asked.

Satan replied, "Oh, I'm
gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them
how to marry and divorce each other,
how to hate and abuse each other, how
to drink and smoke and curse. I'm
gonna teach them how to invent guns
and bombs and kill each other. I'm
really gonna have fun!"

"And what will you do
when you get done with them?" Jesus
asked.

"Oh, I'll kill 'em,"
Satan glared proudly.

"How much do you want
for them?" Jesus asked

"Oh, you don't want
those people. They ain't no good. See,
you'll take them and they'll just hate
you. They'll spit on you, curse you
then kill you. You don't want those
people!!"

"How much?" He asked
again.

Satan looked at Jesus
and sneered, "All your blood, tears,
and your life."

Jesus said without
hesitation, "DONE!"

Then He paid the price.

Isn't it funny how
simple it is for people to trash God
and then wonder why the World's going
to Hell?

Isn't it funny how
someone can say "I believe in God" but
still follow Satan?

Isn't it funny how I
can be more worried about what other
people think of me than what God
thinks of me.

I pray, for everyone
who reads this, they will be blessed
by God in a way special for them

Got this just today...

STRATEGIC MEETING- Makes people think

SATAN'S MEETING: (Read even if you're busy)

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.

In his opening address he said,

"We can't keep Christians from going to church."

"We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth."

"We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their
saviour."

"Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."

"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners,
BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with
Jesus Christ.."

"This is what I want you to do," said the devil:

"Distract them from gaining hold of their Saviour and maintaining that vital
connection throughout their day!"

"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes
to occupy their minds," he answered.

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."

"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work
6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty
lifestyles."

"Keep them from spending time with their children."

"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the
pressures of work!"

"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small
voice"

"Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive." To
keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see
to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music
constantly."

"This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."

"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers."

"Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day."

"Invade their driving moments with billboards."

"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and
every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services
and false hopes.."

"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands
will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become
dissatisfied with their wives. "

"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night."

"Give them headaches too! "

"If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to
look elsewhere."

"That will fragment their families quickly!"

"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the
real meaning of Christmas."

"Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and
power over sin and death."

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive."

"Have them return from their recreation exhausted."

"Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation. Send
them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies
instead."

"Keep them busy, busy, busy!"

"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and
small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences. "

"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power
from Jesus."

"Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health
and family for the good of the cause."

"It will work!"

"It will work!"

It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere
to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.

Having little time for their God or their families.

Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?

You be the judge!!!!!

Does "BUSY" mean: B-eing U-nder S-atan's Y-oke?

Please pass this on, if you aren't too BUSY!

THE BUZZARD, THE BAT & THE BUMBLEBEE

The Buzzard: If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.

The Bat: The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

The Bumblebee: A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.

People: In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up! That's the answer, the escape route and the solution to any problem! Just look up!

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, but faith looks up!
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and trust in our Creator who loves us.

When Life Gets Hard

When Life Gets Hard---
There comes a time in everyone’s life when trouble and difficulties
seem to gang up. When this happens---when life gets hard---what
is the creative way to handle things?

1. Don’t try to do it all yourself. Do not struggle and fret. Do
not strain and complain. Do all you can about things and then put
everything in God’s hands, trusting Him to bring it out right. You can
depend upon God. He will not fail you. Let go and let God.

2. Pray for guidance and believe that direction is now being
given you. Believe this guidance can be trusted. Depend upon it,
for it won’t fail you.

3. Pray for and practice a calm attitude.
Disturbing things will

remain disturbing as long as you are disturbed. But when you
become peaceful, conditions will iron themselves out. You can-
not think creatively when your mind is upset. Remember-upset
minds upset; peaceful minds “peacefulize”.

4. Saturate your consciousness with faith,
the creative faith

that things will turn out right. Say aloud every day several times.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on
thee.” (Isa. 26:3 KJV) “In quietness and in confidence shall be
your strength.” (Isa. 30:15 KJV) “Peace, I give unto you: not as
the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27 KJV)

5. Remind yourself of one great truth:
hard experiences will

pass away. They will yeild. They can be changed. So just
hold on, with God’s help.

6. There is always a light in the darkness.
Believe that. Look

for that light. The light is the love of God. “Thy word is a lamp
unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psa. 119:105 KJV)
Go ahead into the darkness unafraid.

7. Ask the Lord
to release your own creative ingenuity, your

own strength and wisdom, which taken together, can, for a fact,
handle any problem successfully.

8. Never forget that God cares for you, that He loves you.

He wants to help you. Turn to Him, and gratefully accept His
help.

9. Remember that all human beings experience troubles

similar to your own. Many years ago, a graduating class gave a
stone bench to their university on which were graven these words:
“To those who sit here sorrowing or rejoicing; greetings. So
also did we in our time.”

10. Finally, hold on to this great promise: “God is our

refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” And this
is the truth. God will see you through, and a brighter day will
dawn for you.

Kids have a fantastic prespective on life until we warp it!! Maybe we all need washing once in a while or possibly just a chance to dance in the rain!!!!

NEED WASHING??
A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence.. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Target.

We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in 'Mom let's run through the rain,' She said.
'What?' Mom asked.

'Let's run through the rain!' She repeated
'No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit,' Mom replied.
This young child waited about another minute and repeated: 'Mom, let's run through the rain,'
'We'll get soaked if we do,' Mom said...
'No, we won't, Mom.. That's not what you said this morning,' the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm.
This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?
'Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, 'If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!'

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear anything but the rain... We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes.
Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore
What was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.

'Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If GOD let's us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing,' Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case.. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.

And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories...So, don't forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season
And a time to every purpose under heaven.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

Take the time to live!!!

Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you'll need each other -- and don't forget to run in the rain!

Satan will Push You, God will Pull You
