Hi all, for those who don't like news and current events lol u shouldn't read this hehe

anycows, this thread is gonna be a thread about the news from your country. try to post just one (once every week hehehe), like what you see on cnn and other newschannels.

why? just so we get to know what's happening outside our own countries, its great to learn the things that are happening from the lands of our brothers and sisters, so yeah if u have news to share, post 'em here

there will always be rules btw haha

(Yes this was the thread 'news break', but there were mistakes on that thread cause lol i was on the phone, while making that thread, so it kinda messed up, see the title? thats the frst mess lol)

here is the new set of rules

RULES:

1. Sources must be credible.
2. This is real news. UNDERSTAND??
3. Provide all the needed information. (to avoid questions that will lead to off topic conversations lol jk only)
4. Post at least, once a day. To avoid redundancy of flags. :)

Moro rebels kill kidnapped farmer in Basilan

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines– Suspected Moro rebels executed one of their two hostages as security forces continue to pursue them in the jungle of Basilan province in the southern Philippines, police said Monday.

Police said villagers found the body of Cosme Aballes, 54, in the hinterlands near Lamitan City on Friday. Local television reports said Aballes head was almost decapitated.

The fate of another hostage, Hernald Chavez, 22, remains unknown, said Senior Superintendent Salik Macapantar, the provincial police chief said.

“There is an ongoing operation and troops are pursuing the lawless elements," he said, referring to the Abu Sayyaf and Moro Islamic Liberation Front tagged by the police and military as behind the April 10 abductions.

Police said the rebels raided a farm and killed one worker in the remote village of Upper Arco in Lamitan City. The motive of the attack was unknown and the MILF said it would verify the reports.

Macapantar said about 40 gunmen were involved in the raid and he tagged Abu Sayyaf commander Puruji Indama and Inting Ramos and MILF leader Usman Lidjal as among those who led the attack.

Sporadic clashes, he said, were also reported over the weekend between troops and rebels, but it was not immediately known whether there were casualties on the rebel side. -

-----------------

Actually, Moro Rebels are those Muslim terrorists in the Philippines. There are 2 types of terrorists here. Those who are called NPA (New People's Army) who are just rebels, and those MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front) Muslim Rebels, who not only kill civilians out of terrorism but also because most of the civilians are christians. See, the Philippines was known as the only Christian Nation in Asia. But mostly, Philippines is covered with Catholics. Now these muslim rebels have been terrorizing the nation for i dont know how many years now. They have always been kidnapping people from everywhere. Right now, they have people from Red Cross as Captives, and no one knows what they're gonna do to them. The Philippine team has been pursuing them, but, in my opinion, our team is not that brave and strong to defeat them.

And thats the news for today's World News! Brought to you by Abing lol. :D

Well brothers and sisters, heres an interesting one.

Ex-chaplain pleads guilty to sex charges

A former chaplain to Brisbane archbishops Peter Hollingworth and Phillip Aspinall has pleaded guilty to seven counts of indecent treatment of three boys.

Anglican priest Barry John Greaves, 71, appears for sentencing in the Brisbane District Court today.
He had been charged with indecent dealing and indecent treatment of children between 1981 and 1985 in Boonah, west of Brisbane.
The court heard one of his victims had turned to Greaves for support when grieving for his dead father, only to be molested.
The Courier Mail quotes prosecutors who said Greaves carried out the act "while acting as his priest, confidant and saviour, only to abuse it for his own sexual gratification".
Greaves has pleaded guilty to nine child sex offences, including indecent treatment of children under 14.
His now-adult victims faced him in court during the sentencing hearing.
Canon Greaves has been a priest in the Anglican church for 47 years and served as archbishop's chaplain from 1999-2003.

-----------------------------

Just proves the fallibility of all humans, even those who call themselves Christians. So stay true to the lord, and never become overconfident in your own strength. If you do not take up the whole armor of god, satan WILL defeat you.
