I am really struggling with my faith at the moment. I havent been a christian for long but I'm finding it hard to reveal to others that I believe in the lord and hide my bible from my family because I dont want them making fun of me. I don know any other christians in my family and dont go to a church here in Edinburgh, instead I watch my church service online where it is held in Oaklahoma. I would like to join a local church in Edinburgh but too nervous to go alone. I dont feel that confident about carrying on with the christian faith anyway. I thought that by accepting christ into my life, everything would change, that I would find the answers to my life, my purpose and I'd feel content and care - free and together in my own mind but I'm just as confused and my life is just as hectic and mundane and unsatifying as it was before. I thought that I would witness a miracle and I would feel different about things but I dont and I have witnessed nothing.

I dont want to give up and lose hope but it's just too difficult. I dont know what else to do. Please help.

Hello,I would like to say that I was in the same situation.I have only been a Christian for four months.Your life will not change over night.Satan will do what ever is necessary to keep ypu in his house. That is where your fear is coming from,Satan is working on you and hoping you will give up quickly.
You must find a way to get into a Bible teaching church, spend time with other Christians and they will help you to strengthen your faith.I must say that If your family will make fun of you for your faith that when you become stronger in faith you begin talking with your family, tell them your feelings about Christ and pray for them. They may not agree to start with, and they may laugh at you,but If you stay strong in your faith, knowing thru God anything is possible It will be easier to take the abuse.JUST DON'T GIVE UP.

Thank you. I'm pleased to know that I am not the only one who has ever felt like this and I guess all that I need is to have a little courage and trust in the lord and in myself to stand up for what I believe in and to not feel ashamed about believing in the lord. My downfall is that I want things to change quickly but I guess I'll have to be patient.

Do not give up hope, for if you look at it in the right way, it is a chance for your faith to grow!

Jesus is the author and the finnisher of our faith, if you keeps your eyes on Him he is sure to show up!

Let Him build your faith and keep talking to Him.

I have found He knows even our thoughts before we even think them, and if we lean on Him in times of trouble He shows up!

He has a way of giving you your hearts desires when your seeking Him.

He reveals Himself to those who are seeking Him and are willing to wait and not loose faith!

He loves us very much,

and knows what we each of us needs to really know Him.

Lean not on your own understanding, but lean on Him!

Let Him do the work and rest in Him!

He understands your doughts and your fears, and knows what you need to believe and He is willing to meet your needs.

He did not turn Thomas away for not believeing until He seen with His own eyes,

He gave him what he needed to believe!

Jesus many times gave people what they needed to believe.

Not everybody that Jesus healed knew who He was, like the blind man and his parents that stood before the Pharisees!

He didn't even know what Jesus's name was when he was being questioned.

It wasn't until after when Jesus came back to him,

Jesus then revealed Himself!

It takes time to learn to hear the voice of God, let Him teach You!

It's time for your faith to grow,

Jesus loves to reveal Himself to you,

If you would only believe,

He is who He says He!

Just Believe!

You have to know the Lord thinks you're awesome...and he is going to continue to cause you to reflect Him...

But you have to seek Christ and his people or you may never gain the confidence to 'live your life for him and him alone.' Remember the Pharisees and scribes scripture says there were some that believed in Jesus but put human judgments above testifying to Christ...

Spiritually the world does not start persecuting you until you become a Christian...I hat to tell you that but its true...if you are a part of this world, everything is fine and it is destroying you in the dark so that you don't notice...But when you seek and live in the Lord's name...then you have been taken out of the world, even as Jesus said if they do this stuff to me (meaning Jesus) when the wick is green, what will they do to my followers when it is brown? And know that the world hates you, if the world loved you you would not be for the Lord, but Jesus' love has taken you out of this world...and therefore the world must hate you.

As I said, I experienced all of this when I stopped intentionally sinning...It was like even those I thought were Christian wanted me to stay in the dark, my pastor even vehemently disliked me...

So know that all Christ's brothers are experiencing the same issue a world over...

May the Lord strengthen you and bold-ify you (make you bold, made that one up) so that you can witness to the glorious presence of Christ in the mist of the corruption rife in this world

Oh yeah I didn't answer the question, what's the miracle? Maybe its that you believe but its also that God sent his Son...all other miracles are mundane when you truly believe that as I wrote earlier in Romans:

Roman 8: 31-34, 37
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him GRACIUSLY GIVE US ALL THINGS? WHo shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. WHo is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died--more than that, who was raised--who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ...NO in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

I pray this helps you reach full discernment of God's love and vision for you
May the Lord strengthen you, so that you may boldy follow him in all you do

First the miracle is that you accepted Jesus. Sounds like that was no easy task for you. Second, You now have a huge family of brothers and sisters in Jesus. All of us here willing to care any time you need us. Now I want to share that we all face times when we wonder if Jesus is there or not. I have loved the Lord all my life but it has'nt made me any better than any other and I still have my times where I say where are you Lord. I have learned this much, that often when all seems silent it is because Jesus wants you to know only his voice, it is a good thing. Sometimes its because Jesus wants you to be brave, the good part is he gives you the courage. I want to encourage you not to lose heart. Sometimes it may seem you are alone but it only seems that way. As you go forward in his timeing you will learn of the great love Jesus has for you and the wonderful gifts that are already yours.Continue to seek Jesus where ever you can, this is a good start, and believe in faith, wether you see evidence or not. It is by faith, his gift also, that we see. You will be in my prayers and dont be afraid to ask when ever you need. God bless, pickles

Dear Weekak,

I was in the same situation when i was in 8th grade. I doubted the presence of God and Christ Jesus so much some month ago. But I had a very little faith which i held on to. You know what... some people are blessed enough to believe fully in Christ, but some aren't - I think you are that person. So anyway, i kept praying and crying till my faith gradually became strong. God hears our prayers whenever we pray. We just have to cry out from our very heart. If you need a miracle to witness, buy a book that is about the testimony of a devoted Christian. I would prefer you to buy Heavenly Man. I believe this book will be good for your weak faith.

i also want to tell you about speaking in tongues. We speak in tongues when the Holy Spirit is upon us. Christ promised this to us, it is said in the Bible. And indeed, in our days, there are saints who speak in tongues when the Holy Spirit is upon them~! You can witness this in the youth retreat, or some other place where our hearts are on fire.

Hi Weekak

You know when you plant an acorn it might take awhile before you see anything. You might be tempted to go and dig it up.

It took awhile for faith to grow in my heart. At 16 I doubted God's existence and wasn't interested in Christianity at all. In my case it took a few years and I had to get pretty low but eventually I saw that I was a sinner and repented. I was so scared of Hell at that time and I knew nothing about Jesus so I did the only thing I could think of - I prayed. I was embarressed about anyone seeing my Bible too. When I was 22 someone told me how they'd been baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit. He looked so peaceful I felt jealous. So I thought I'll get baptised - I really wanted to find God but I was curious as well. Anyway I went to a Pentecostal church and the minute I was prayed for I was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. WOW. I was never the same again. Before that I was always doubting and disappointing myself. After that I was so excited about Jesus I just wanted to tell everybody. That was 30 years ago and I still pray a lot. Without prayer I would have shrivelled up a long time ago - because life turned out a lot tougher than I thought. When I was young I thought things were going to be perfect. Well, the only thing that has been perfect in my life is the Lord.

The greatest miracle you will ever witness is the miracle of salvation. No human being can ever change the human heart. That is something only God can do.

I have been a Christian for 20+ years and still struggle with my faith sometimes, although it is getting stronger. Jesus never said being his follower would be easy. You must remember not to go on feelings but on what the Word of God says. That is how we fight satan and his cohorts who come to lie, cheat, and steal from us. He is trying to steal your faith and I say, don't let him. We have not received a spirit of fear but a spirit of power, of love, and we have a sound mind. You have the mind of Christ. Resist the devil and he WILL flee from you. He cannot stay.

I don't understand why people think the devil has so much power when in reality he has none except what people give him. We need to remember that he was defeated by Christ on the Cross almost 2000 years ago and was stripped of his power. The only power he has is what he can make you believe he has. His greatest weapon is fear but we have not received a spirit of fear and do not have to accept it from him. He is such a thief and a liar and we need to stop listening to him. It amazes me that so many people believe in the devil's existence but have such a hard time believing in Jesus. They both came from heaven (although satan was kicked out). satan takes what he wants at a very high human cost, while Jesus offers his gift for free. What the devil offers will cost you everything; what Jesus offers cost Him His life.

You really need to get involved in a church - but be careful what kind of church. There is a lot of false teachings out there. But you really do need to fellowship. Also remember, Jesus had a lot of secret followers due to their fear of the Jews, so don't feel bad. Just let your light shine. Sometimes we can win people to Christ without ever saying a word.

Just stand on God's word. Study it as much as you can. Heaven and Earth will pass away but God's Word will never pass away.

I will pray for you.

Amen to that - Stand on God's word. You are in my prayers as well. I pray that God would lead you to a local church where you can feel comfortable, refreshed, and grow and learn. As you learn more, you will understand more, you will put things into practice and you will not be afraid. God works through us, so we don't even have to do the heavy lifting, so to speak, if we truly are trusting in him. Doing this actively in trials is one of the hardest things to do, but it is also the best time to earnestly seek him out, even with tears, and to simply not know what tomorrow will bring. Our faith is of greater worth than gold, and to keep your faith during hard times - and amidst family who may not understand, which I can't imagine how difficult that must be - is what is going to make you a rock-solid Christian. Keep the faith. God is as real as the chair you are sitting on, and unfathomable in his love toward us. He created you and he knows you are in this situation. You are not alone and never will be alone or forsaken - that is one of many promises in the Bible we can claim. There are times in my life when I cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. I cannot deny that I am miserable, helpless, and the situation stinks! Becoming a Christian does not transform your life into everything being made rosy and positive - on the outside. On the *inside* though, it can be a completely different story, because as we were saved by faith, in the same way we continue to live out our lives: by faith. The same faith that you had when you believed - is the same faith you believe in God's deliverance, day by day.

When we cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel, we can still trust that God will find a way. This is possible if we trust in him, not in ourselves. He will give us the strength to endure and his strength and energy never runs out. We can pray for his strength night and day, unceasing, and even if we are lying on our deathbeds, or in chains - like the Apostle Paul - in prison, sick, hurt, heartbroken, anxious, whatever - on the inside, we can still be getting God's strength and love. My pastor has described it like an "IV tube to God." :) we can feel clean and pure inside, and feel certainty. Certainty might be the best word. To know that nothing on earth can shake your God. It's amazing.

As for the devil: my only comment is, greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world.

Blessings!

Man, all i can say is this:

Everybody stands before God on judgement day ALONE.

NO one is going to be there to make fun of you then.

We are talking about the destination place for our entire spirits. Forever.

So, just think about that one single thing.

Be a GOD pleaser instead of a people pleaser and or family pleaser.

GOD has way more power than any human you will ever meet.

Hey there...I feel bad for you. I can't imagine feeling alone like that. But, I will say that I think you have a wonderful opportunity. Being a christian isn't always easy. It's easy to be one at church. The hard part is being one outside in the world. God never promised us a life free from strife and stumbling, but that when we do he will be there to help pick us up...Don't give up...it's tough but you'll be better for it...:0) I'll try to remember to pray for you to have boldness..and to be brave...

Yahoooooooooooooo you joined the Kingdom of God. Did you know when you came to God all the people and angels had a big party in heaven? Your a mirical in the works right now because you have excepted Christ he can use you to bring all your family to him. Be bold. Don't be afraid. Learn as much as you can about God. It's important to find a good church. Learning from a good pastor is important. Being with other believers is important. One thing you learn when you know Christ is everything isn't always easy in your times in this world but you learn that you are not alone because God lives inside of your heart and he will help you with everything. Alone you can do nothing but with God you can do all things. Make sure you find a church that belives in the holy spirit. God bless you love Linda
