Smile The Rapture!

The Rapture is questioned as to when it will take place. When do you think the Rapture takes place? It's suprising to find out that the Rapture is not mentioned in Revelation.

when people talk about the rapture they mean the time after all the sleeping(dead) believers have been called up by Jesus and when the christians who are stilll living will be taken and the unbelievers left behind..... It's something that Jesus described so it's not in revelation. I will look into it to see if Jesus was using an analogy or meant the literal rapture.....
Blessings!!

The rapture is described in 1 Thes. 4, though the word rapture specifically is not used, what is described is what the word rapture is defined as.

the Rapture, Theology . the experience, anticipated by some fundamentalist Christians, of meeting Christ midway in the air upon his return to earth.

I saw this in John 5: 28 "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out-those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned." And Matt 24:3-44 is extremely descriptive. As a young child, I was afraid of the Rapture because of that description. As I got older, bible teachers would tell me to focus more on my obedience to the Lord so His coming won't be seen as an upsetting, dramatic event, but something we as believers anticipate with great joy.

If God is in eternity, then time does not have to apply to Him, it only applies to us.
The time itself does not matter to us, as much as our state matters at that time.

Make every effort to prsent yourself blameless before God, everyone needs His mercy, He is good and kind, but a small bit of sin does alot of bad. Let's do more good works and let our conscience become more moral and encouraged.
P.s did you know the word Enthusiasm came form two Greek words En and Theos ("inside of" and "God"). To be enthusiastic means literally to be inside GOD. Keep yourself encouraged and blameless in your conscience and intentions

Matthew 13:37-43 NIV

He answered, "The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. "As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.

Revelation 14:14-16 NIV

I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, "Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe." So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 NIV

According to the Lord's word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

The rapture or catching away is a harvest of gods people. You will see the above scripture in revelation. It does not say caught up but it is a description of the rapture. You have seen christians reffered to as the bride of christ. The rapture is christ returning for his bride. After the rapture you will see in revelation about the marriage supper of the lamb. This takes place aftee the rapture and before the second coming.
Revelation 19:7-9 NIV

Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean,
was given her to wear."
(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God's holy people.) Then the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!" And he added, "These are the true words of God."

The LORD says that only GOD HIMSELF knows when the rapture will take place, but JESUS gaves us the signs to watch for. We shall know the season (Matthew 24) and the season is now!

The word "rapture" is taken from a latin word which means to be "caught up" or "taken up" 1 thess 4 says we will be "caught up" to be with the lord. So in a way, the word rapture is included in 1 thess 4.

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Exactly eternally-grateful. I believe that the word you were looking for is the Latin "rapere", or, in some later writings, "rapturo." It is the Latin translation of the Greek "harpazo", which means to be caught up by force.

But concerning the thread post regarding the timing of the rapture.....well, you will certainly know that it is happening when it happens! The most important thing is that our Lord and Savior finds us faithful and about the Father's business. Lol...I once heard a fellow minister teach on the rapture once, and he said, "you can call it the catching away, you can call it the rapture, you can even call it the holy kidnapping if you want to, but, when it happens, you can just call me gone!
