Any person who lives after their imaginations is subject to error. Children included. The bad parent, and in this case, Christian parent, is the one who leaves their children to their own imaginations, which the Lord says is evil continually. YES! Children.

Many parents let video games and televisions raise their children, meanwhile they are teaching their children to obey movies and games, and not teaching them to obey Jesus.

So when your child comes up and says, ''Mommy, my friend said I can REALLY be a wizard...''

Now, just in case you think it is foolish, I live, not to far from a wizard university, where they.... ACTUALLY teach people to become wizards. Imaginations huh?
Hmmm, you know, if leaving someone to live after their imagination and their errors are not at some point corrected amounts them to becoming something like yourself... then I wholeheartedly agree!

You know, when I was a child, about 8 years old, I told my mom I wanted to be a white witch. I had read a kid's book in the new public school library about witches that a white witch was a good witch. I was not referring to Empress Jadis from Narnia Chronicles, but white witchcraft was suppose to be good magic, or white magic, it is good magic. I had not yet read in the Bible that God hated witchcraft or the part that witches should be put to death and that those that practiced magic and sorcery would go to hell. I had no idea magic was outlawed by God. I grew up in a Christian family going to southern bpatist churches was born in 1980 and went to a strict fundamentalist hristian private school when I was little starting with preschool at 3 or 4 years old. WHen I was 8 I started third grade in public school, I was lied to at the private school about public schools, the public elementary school was very nice, very different, as a matter of fact better than crappy Community Christian.

SO, i was an innocent child, and I would rather be a fairy princess than a witch, witch has such negative associations, so I thought I ould say good sorceress or good enchantress, or mage, magician, what would you call a female wizard? wizardess? I thought you had to be born a fairy, they were a magical, ethereal race and had wings, many of them were tiny but some are human sized. There were fairy godnmothers, maybe I am like a fairy godmother, but I have no child to help, no Cinderellas to mentor.

I read Bible stories, the kid versions, and liked the one about Joseph, Ruth, and Queen Esther. The Esther story was my favorite becasue it was glamorous, like Cinderella.

I love fairy tales and I like to read unheard of ones from different cultures around the world. As a child I had no evil intentions with wanting to ractice magic, I wanted to do something like end world hunger by creating magic crops that grew in abundance, huge vegetables and fruit that were immune to disease and filled barren fields aos that everybody could eat them. And I would make sources of fresh water for the poor all around the world and heal the damaged environment of the earth that has been ravaged by polluters.

I wanted to make the world a better place, clean up the mess and pollution, and end world hunger, maybe bring about world peace. What is wrong with that? Oh yeah, I know-

Only God can do those things, and I am not God. But in my imagication, the world is beautiful and there is no ugly trash and devestation, no starving children or muggers, murderers and rapists, no terrorists and slums, no bad stories on the news, no rude, mean hateful people, no fire ants o biting mosquioes and cokroaches, no dirty dishes to clean, no sickness, no pain, no endless waiting no loneliness or sadness, no tears or anger or bad memeroies to haunt you, nobody angry and yelling at you, no longing for something you can't have, longing for love and friendhsip that's out of reach longing to go to places you can't afford to go.

THat's why people want magic, but what they really need is God. God's miracles is the true magic. When Jesus Christ came to earth and he healed people and cast out demons, he was accused of being sorcerer in league with the demons. But Jesus said, "a kingdom divided against itself will not stand." That is why Satan does not do good. If you ever catch a "witch" doing good stuff like healing people, helping people, feeding the hungry, sheltering the poor, performing exorcisms and casting out demons, helping build homes for the homeless, cleaning up the raodsides and public places like parks, they may do it a little bit to look good and get people on their side, but the ones who really do these good deeds are Christians.

There are many evil cults in the world today, and they teach the same old serpent's lie the Devil told Eve and Adam, Do this and you will become like god, you will become a god. It is true we should imitate Jesus Christ, but remember that He thought equality to god nothing and humbled himself to a slave and crimminal's death on the cross to set us free from Satan's power of sin. We must take up our cross and abandon the world if we are to follow him. And the enchanted world I long for is heaven, my true home, I hold it in my heart, that one day the wrongs and evils of this world will be made right, all things will be made new.

I learned what being a witch meant, I learned about medeival beliefs of witches signing their name, their souls, over to the Devil in blood in a black book. Of course, I changed my mind awful fast about being a witch when I read that! I read about the Medieval Christian beliefs on Satanic witches, the witches sabbats ( they were insulting Jews by calling them sabbats, after Sabbath, Jews were demonized in the Middle aged, persecuted a lot by the Medieval Catholic church.) I read about the Inquisition and witch hunts, the brutal cruel torture done to expose witches, how women, the elderly, the mentally ill, handicapped, independent thinkers, early protestants, a various CHristian sects, one religious group called the Cathars, who were vegetarians and celebates similar to the Gnostics were persecuted, tortured killed, burned at the stake or stoned, hanged walled up in small spaces inside buildings or impriosned, forced to recant. There were true Christians who went against the evil corruption, greed, political games of power and lust wrong doctrine that the Catholic church had who were tortured and martyred for their faith. The Catholic church only allowed priests to read scripture, it was forbidden for anyon else to read the Bible.

Protestants tortured and killed witches the same as Catholics. There was the Salem witchcraft trials.

Modern Christians must not persecute and show cruelty to witches and those in the occult. I agree that the occult is evil.

Not all fantasy is evil. I like Chronicles of Narnia. Alsan represents Jesus as the Lion of Judah. A lot of fantasy media has good verses evil themses, about the battle between good and evil. Donita K. Paul has awesome books that are Christian and have good dragons in them, so I am not the only Christian that likes dragons and sees dragons can be good. I am writing my own stories. I have several I started. Need to finish them.

I enjoyed your posts there. ^

I come from Shetland and was born in Orkney. The witch trials were particularly bad up there. There was an earl who fancied himself as a witch hunter. They would throw women into the sea. If they could swim they were witches and were afterwards burned/stoned etc.. If they couldn't swim they probably weren't witches but drowned anyway. In fishing communities of that time people did not learn to swim. In the north sea if you fell overboard you would die, swimming was seen as prolonging the eventual death, nobody could rescue the poor drowning women, but at least they weren't witches eh?

I remember from when I was a kid that we always used to imitate Harry Potter saying spells.. Not sure if it's a good idea to actually quote or name them here, though. It's of the devil, that's for sure. I'm glad I never watch movies or television ever again. I feel a lot healthier now, both in a physical as well as a spiritual way.

Not entirely right. The Uk festival was never "stamped out"..unfortunately this is a long post and I apoligise for that but I think the info is worth it.

American version of Halloween Day celebration owes its origin to the ancient (pre-Christian) Druidic fire festival called "Samhain", celebrated by the Celts in Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Samhain is pronounced "sow-in", with "sow" rhyming with cow. In Ireland the festival was known as Samhein, or La Samon, the Feast of the Sun. In Scotland, the celebration was known as Hallowe'en. In Welsh it's Nos Galen-gaeof (that is, the Night of the Winter Calends. According to the Irish English dictionary published by the Irish Texts Society: "Samhain, All Hallowtide, the feast of the dead in Pagan and Christian times, signalizing the close of harvest and the initiation of the winter season, lasting till May, during which troops (esp. the Fiann) were quartered.
Is that supposed to be the night when no one but the king of Ireland was to have a fire lit, and St. Patrick lit a bon fire?

I had a Christian friend get mad at me, because I told her" Harry potter" was teaching her kids witch craft. She thought I was going overboard, and expressed that unless I read the books myself I could not be the judge. After that our friendship was not the same. If I had to point it out to her again, I would do it all over again. It broke my heart to hear the kids talk about spells and potions. Isn't that the way the enemy works, he makes it look innocent, and promises power. Don't worry; I spent many nights in prayer for all the kids being miss led.

Lev 19:26
Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it. Do not practice divination or sorcery.

1 Thes 5:21-23
but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 6:16
There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
That's how the enemy finds his way into our lives when we live in the flesh and don't hold steadfast to the word for guidance. Great scriptures to illustrate your points, such fantastic advice.

This is what I heard a little boy tell his mom, and his mom was too afraid and ashamed to say something back.

A lot of parents are setting their children up for much evil in the days to come. They let their children watch all this filth on T.V. They let them play these evil games.

What is worse that there are supposed Christians that do the same thing. They know it is wrong, yet they continue to do it. They practice Halloween, which is Satan's hallowed day, and don't even care that they are going against Jesus in doing it.

The end of this generation will be a terrible one. I am witnessing the beginning of it, which is the beginning of the end of all things. Will you be with Jesus, or with the world that is perishing? You are going to have to choose.

May Jesus bless you.
Your kid wants to be a wizard? Teach him to serve Jesus...All the things that Jesus did your kid can do. Heal people, multiply loaves and fishes, raise the dead.(There's something wizards can't do) cast out devils and so forth... Everything a wizard can do, a son of God can do and better.

Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old,he will never depart from it.when parents create time every day or night to teach children about God consistently, children draw closer to God instead of drawing closer to the dark side.Children need to be guided regularly to be able to distinguish between good and evil in any form.No matter how much evil is decorated or glossed over, evil is evil and children should be made aware from it of a tender age.
