...Ramon isn't going to answer my question, huh?
It seems to be the million dollar question that no one want to give a straight answer for. Fancy.

C.S. Lewis. Either you think his work was meaningless junk and he went to hell for it, or you don't. Which is it?

I think we're missing Ramon's point. Don't be deceived friends. Every holiday celebrates something. Halloween is a pagan holiday promoting Satanism, idolatry, witchcraft, sorcery, necromancy, and the occult. None of these things should exist in the life of a Christian! They are spiritually dangerous, and should be avoided at all costs. What does the Bible have to say about the idea of Halloween, and the activities often associated with this pagan festival? I refer you to Deuteronomy 18:9-13: Deuteronomy 18:9-13 - "When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations (idolatry) of those nations (pagans). There shall NOT be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer (those who talk with the spirits of the dead). For ALL that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be upright with the LORD thy God."
Final note: Did you know that October 31st is considered by Satanists and other occult following adults to be one of their most important days of the year? It’s true! And Halloween has the highest crime rate of any day of the year. Why do you think that is? Because it's a celebration of spiritual darkness.
So please don't give glory to the Devil by actively participating in this pagan festival. Give Glory to God Alone through Jesus Christ and the Father of Light!

Honey I think he did when he called it a fable. I find this closed minded myself, spreading biblical principles in a modern way seems a good idea to me.

Why are you asking me something that God determines. You have the whole bible, go and read it to find out.

I know you want to tempt me, but I am past that. Now, anyone who hears the Lord and obeys him, we know his end, but anyone who denies him, we also know their end.

Ask Jesus.

May Jesus bless you.

I know it was his attempt, but it's not a straight answer. I want to know if he's going to call C.S. Lewis out or not.

Darn it, I'm bummed that I'm going to hell for liking Harry Potter.

Just throwing this out there, but you do realize that The Chronicles of Narnia, the famous Christian allegory is at face value categorized as fantasy?
Did C.S. Lewis go to hell?
How is reading fantasy a sin? Maybe some fantasy is too dark spiritually for a Christian to morally read, but certainly not Narnia. Harry Potter though... definately on the dark side. Sorcery is real and very evil. I know two people who regret having been trapped in that. It's not only dangerous, but it's a sin. And it's no wonder considering the power of sorcery comes from demons.

There was a man who taught out of books of sorcery, who had seduced many people to follow him, as if he were someone great. But then holy men came into town, with power from on High, and these people forsook these Sorcerers and REPENTED and followed Jesus. Being baptized with the Holy Ghost afterwards.

There are many seducers today, who will also increase as this world continues away from God. It is not strange now that some see it as harmless, or don't pay it any attention. But I am telling you that a great deception is coming and it shows itself in this thread already.

In a city all the books of sorcery were burned (this dependence on sorcerers resulted form drawing away from God by seduction of lusts).

And one Sorcerer determined to have the power of the HOly Ghost, presuming the Holy Ghost was some big magic show. But he was rebuked for his iniquity that was in him, thinking the Holy Ghost could be bought with money.

This generation is on the way to this. Every word of God will be performed.

May Jesus bless you.

I don't know, ask Ramon.

Fantasy is fantasy. There are fantasy books/movies that certainly aren't okay, but not just based on the genre itself.

Explain to me how Harry Potter is darker than Narnia.

Yeah, if you've got it in your head that witchcraft is chill, then you probably stay away from it.
But I know the difference, and when I watch Harry Potter I see good triumphing over evil, the power of friendship and love. What's so dark about that?

Point is, you guys can't be so close minded about it. And if you're going to be, at least be consistent.

My mind is absolutely closed to the ways of the world, and focused on the mind of God.

Harry Potter is a work of Satan, the harmless fun before the possession. This will cause many people to be offended. Harry Potter is evil triumphing over evil, which is not possible. Nothing about love nor friendship with God. But about hate of God and friendship with familiar spirits. Everything is dark about that.

Many fantasy books and movies are the devil's database for sinners to resort to. What is strange to see people who call themselves Christians going right along with it, surely, the HOly Spirit convicting them about it, but they still want the desires of this world.

Deuteronomy 18:9-12
9 When you enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. 10 Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11 or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12 Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD; because of these same detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you.

Guys.

No matter what you want to think, Ramon is absolutely right! No less experts than the Apostle, Paul, and Christ Himself, admonished us that we cannot be "of the world" and "of the Kingdom" too.

The danger of the Harry Potter stories, in particular, is that they blur the line between good and evil. According to J. K. Dowling, there is a nebulous supernatural force out there that is neither good nor bad; it depends solely on who is using it. The implication is clear. There is no God and there is no devil. Man is not innately evil. All the things that fly in the face of Christian teachings.

This is not necessarily dangerous, in and of itself. However, when a child decides that he or she wants to" be a wizard", that child has subconsciously accepted the premises of the author. Like everything else, the secular world has done a lot better job of indoctrination than we have.

If your kids read the Harry Potter series, did you sit down with them and point out how the premises differed from what they were learning in Sunday School?

I rest my case.

When I read Harry Potter I was not stupid enough to think it was real. I was 7 or 8.
