This is what I heard a little boy tell his mom, and his mom was too afraid and ashamed to say something back.

A lot of parents are setting their children up for much evil in the days to come. They let their children watch all this filth on T.V. They let them play these evil games.

What is worse that there are supposed Christians that do the same thing. They know it is wrong, yet they continue to do it. They practice Halloween, which is Satan's hallowed day, and don't even care that they are going against Jesus in doing it.

The end of this generation will be a terrible one. I am witnessing the beginning of it, which is the beginning of the end of all things. Will you be with Jesus, or with the world that is perishing? You are going to have to choose.

May Jesus bless you.

I had a Christian friend get mad at me, because I told her" Harry potter" was teaching her kids witch craft. She thought I was going overboard, and expressed that unless I read the books myself I could not be the judge. After that our friendship was not the same. If I had to point it out to her again, I would do it all over again. It broke my heart to hear the kids talk about spells and potions. Isn't that the way the enemy works, he makes it look innocent, and promises power. Don't worry; I spent many nights in prayer for all the kids being miss led.

Lev 19:26
Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it. Do not practice divination or sorcery.

1 Thes 5:21-23
but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 6:16
There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Actually, I agree on this.

Originally Halloween was a celebration for the end of summer. It came from the festival Samhain which translates into summers end. It is only later that paganism had anything to do with it. In fact it officially does not, it was only that they had a festival at roughly the same time of year. :)

So does that make you in favor of Halloween? Because it clearly portrays fear and evil of every sort.

Does it? Are you scared of the children asking for sweets? I was not providing an opinion on Halloween I was simply pointing out that the above comment was not accurate.

It is amazing how subtle Satan is. ''Oh, it is nothing but asking for sweets, but then not clearly seeing it is choosing to go along with this day in which Satan is clearly and evidently worshiped. Just like in the garden, seeing it was good for food. Harmless fun?

But the harm is hardly to the flesh. It is a defiling of the conscience.

I'm just throwing this out here, and I know this sounds crazy and unimaginable, buuuut KIDS HAVE IMAGINATIONS AND ARE GOING TO PLAY PRETEND.
Note the sarcasm.

There's like a one in a million chance that a kids is really going to grow up believing in witch craft.

Oh yeah, I don't know if anyone's ever thought about this, but there's this thing called parenting. You know, teaching your kids right from wrong, and that they aren't going to be witches and wizards (not blaming everything on the world).

Many Kids already believe in witch craft. Many people in this country alone practice witchcraft every day. Many teens and many children. The same fruit that come from rebellion show themselves in witchcraft. Because people rebel against the Lord, even nations, the Lord gives them over to this spirit.

Now, mark the words today, this will happen, anyone who continues in this will be given over to these seducing spirits. Christians are in NO WAY excused to practice it. Jesus will judge all sorcerers and witches and warlocks also. They will all end up in hell if they don't turn from this.

Christian parents should be raising their children according to the words of Jesus. The Holy Spirit doesn't mix with other spirits, one will have to leave.

Not only that but after the pagans co-opted the festival the Catholic Church moved All Saints day to the same date in an effort to stamp out the Pagan celebration in Britain. This day was called "All Hallows Eve" which was eventually corrupted too Halloween.

I have noticed that on this forum people tend to presume they know your thoughts. Sometimes they even write down the words they THINK are in your head.
I have also noticed that for a site meant to be open to spirited debate anyone offering an opinion differing from the mass appears to quickly be banned.
I would appreciate it if in future people would refrain from telling me what I think and respect the fact that sometimes there is more than one point of view and that shades of grey really do exist.

And just for the record here is what I do think...I totally agree with Honey, when I was a child I was convinced that I was going to have a pet unicorn called Misty. I grew up. I also thought that when my teeth fell out a winged woman left me money and each winter (on Jesus' birthday no less) a fat man broke into my house drank my parents alcohol, fed a flying reindeer a carrot and left a stack of presents on my living room floor (sometimes there were sled marks and bootprints outside in the snow)

Darn it, I'm bummed that I'm going to hell for liking Harry Potter.

Just throwing this out there, but you do realize that The Chronicles of Narnia, the famous Christian allegory is at face value categorized as fantasy?
Did C.S. Lewis go to hell?

Anyone who lives in the shade of grey will end up in the darkness as well. No shades of grey with God. Either you serve him or you serve Satan. There were two choices. Choose life or choose death. Everyone will have to choose.

Fables. The Lord said they would come. And people do even now prefer them over the Truth.

So you're just going to sidestep my question, just like everyone does when I bring it up? Fancy.

I wonder what they think of the Lord of the Rings? It has wizards in it, in fact the character that is representative of Jesus in LOTR is Gandalf, a wizard.

More fables. Jesus is represented by the Holy Spirit, not by fictional movies. Know Jesus, and know his Holy Spirit. Movies don't bring one to the knowledge of the Truth, only the Holy Spirit.

Not entirely right. The Uk festival was never "stamped out"..unfortunately this is a long post and I apoligise for that but I think the info is worth it.

American version of Halloween Day celebration owes its origin to the ancient (pre-Christian) Druidic fire festival called "Samhain", celebrated by the Celts in Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Samhain is pronounced "sow-in", with "sow" rhyming with cow. In Ireland the festival was known as Samhein, or La Samon, the Feast of the Sun. In Scotland, the celebration was known as Hallowe'en. In Welsh it's Nos Galen-gaeof (that is, the Night of the Winter Calends. According to the Irish English dictionary published by the Irish Texts Society: "Samhain, All Hallowtide, the feast of the dead in Pagan and Christian times, signalizing the close of harvest and the initiation of the winter season, lasting till May, during which troops (esp. the Fiann) were quartered.

The Scottish Gaelis Dictionary defines it as "Hallowtide. The Feast of All Soula. Sam + Fuin = end of summer."(2) Contrary to the information published by many organizations, there is no archaeological or literary evidence to indicate that Samhain was a deity. The Celtic Gods of the dead were Gwynn ap Nudd for the British, and Arawn for the Welsh. The Irish did not have a "lord of death" as such. Thus most of the customs connected with the Day are remnants of the ancient religious beliefs and rituals, first of the Druids and then transcended amongst the Roman Christians who conquered them.

And Aslan? A magical lion. In the first book (the magicians nephew) Aslan sends a child to pick a fruit off a tree but not to eat it. What fruit was that? After he created what? There are many other similarities throughout the series.
