A disappointment I have are churches who do not seem to care if scripture based songs are sung. Why? So many Christian song writers write songs with such low meaning lyrics. Certainly if they used scripture so that children and youth could learn God's Word that would very good. There are some scripture songs but not many. Churches sing the same songs over and over again without scripture.
Why? Who objects to that great goal and why?

I don't see anyone objecting to it. But God granted people gifts, some are musicians and writers. People are writing the songs using their God given talents to create something new and meaningful to them and others. The attitude that songs should just all be about scripture strips away a lot of that creativity and puts restrictions and limitations on how we express ourselves to God. I'd take a creative personal song over some forced insincere song written to follow some rule about how songs 'should' be written.

Hi HeIsNowHere,

Say, what is happening in your home church and why?

(Any feedback from elders?)

My church has a lot of songs that are scripture based. We don't have a big worship team, but we are big on praise!
