I have not been a member of this site very long, but I have noticed thru my own postings and others that certain people on this site act just like the non-believers I meet on the street. They are very rude and act like your post is ridiculous.
I am a former atheist and have only been a Christian for a few months. It was because of people I have met on this site that I was an atheist so long.Christians need to remember WHO and WHAT they represent, you never know the reason why a person is posting on here.I know I am far from perfect but when I read a post the first thing I think about is the person behind the post, and the best way to answer them without hurting feelings. One of the commandments say to "love thy neighbor",I don't think that only pertains to the people living next to you. God bless

Yes you're right. As a new member, that's usually the first impression with this site, but guess what? I've learned something from that ya know.

Matthew 7: 3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

We all know the world isn't perfect. But the best way to let Christians be REAL Christian is to begin with ourselves, you be CHRISTian, I be CHRISTian.. then God will take care of the others, thats how it goes. Don't be troubled. God is just and He sees everything, leave it all up to Him. As long as you know you're following HIM, and not THEM. Then nothing's wrong with you. Them? God will deal with them. It's beyond OUR control. God bless.

There are some people on here that are good and do really love like the word says to.
Not all of them are like pharisees or lawyers!
Don't let them get to you, focus on Jesus and pray for them!
Prayer is loving on a person, and can move mountains even in here!
Watch God move!
Be encouraged and let Jesus move as you pray and trust in Him!
He is the living word and it never comes back void when believed!
He is the one who is changing hearts and building His Church, not man!
Do not be tossed to and fro, focus on Jesus, talk to Him!

"Hold up wait a minute put a little love in it" Sorry quoting songs is lame but it's true. I think what maybe the problem is people think before they speak or um write. I think instead of replying to a thread that you feel passionate about right away, slow down pray about it grab a coffee or something you like turn off the computer and come back later once you have decided a calm understanding way to respond. If we respond quickly then we let the first thing in our heads out, and I don't know about science or anything but for me it's usually anger so just slow down digest the arguement pray and let the Holy Spirit lead you to a reply if you should reply at all. Also I don't mean to condemn anyone I probably should take my own advice because early I replied angrily to a post that was not needed. It's just a suggestion.

I totally agree with ya ,it can be quite discouraging at times but like abing said , we arent perfect yet nor will we be till its all over , but in the meantime we should love our neighbor as Christ loves us .

Its for the very reason that none of us is perfect that we should ALWAYS think before we speak, what ppl fail to realize is , once you say something, you cant take it back. While I cant say i have never got my blood pressure up some on these forums I think its safe to say just about all of us new and old, have felt belittled or downright attacked at some time or other, what i have learned to do.......is shake the dust off my feet, and ignore it. Im accountable for me, and what comes outta my mouth, and so is everyone else. Welcome to the family Mcap.....I hope somehow and someway you may be blessed and be a blessings to others.

All I have to say about this, is one little thing. Christians shouldn't ACT the part/ life style, they should LIVE it. I understand what is meant, however, to ''act'' or ''acting'' is to pretend. We shouldn't be two faced, live a double life, act like someone or something we aren't. Can't just talk the talk, ya gotta walk the walk too. LIVE the Christian lifestyle, don't just act it. Worry about ourselves first though, and pray for others, let God deal with each and every single person....

don't act it.....LIVE it.

No worries, StandUp4God... we commonly know acting to be pretending, but acting is really just putting something into "action". Therefore, "acting" the part and living are the same thing. Your putting your beliefs into "action"

But yeah, considering that acting is understood to mean pretending, LIVING it is a much better way of saying it.

mcap,

Please don't become dis-heartened; there are some good solid real Christians on this site, but like everywhere else on the net, the devil's agents are planted, they are noticed and give themselves away by trying to start fights, division, cruelness, lude thinking, and every other type of sin imagined. Just like the BIBLE TELLS US. READ IT. Then you will understand that this is Spiritual Warfare, not a walk in the local hippy commune. You are never going to find UTOPIA while you are on this EARTH. The real reward is in HEAVEN. Then and only then, will you find what you are truly looking for.

Don't let others change the way you feel. If you let them, you are nothing more than a puppet on a string.

Like the famous song says: Everybody plays the fool, they use your heart just like a tool.

Christians can be some of the meanest unloving people there are. It is very sad. They missed the whole point of God. I am very happy you came to God. Just know that all chrsitians aren't like that ok. Pray for them. Get as close to God as you can. He has so many treasures to give you.

One thing that bothers me is all the Christian items that many people who claim to be christian wear.
I've seen rings that say "CTR" meaning Choose The Right. Along with tie clips that say the same thing. People wear crosses or crucifixes for others to see. Yet, these same Christians will get in their car and drive dangerously. They are rude to other people. And go around acting like they are so much better than those less fortunate.

If a person is truly a Christian and has the Lord & Holy Ghost in their hearts, why do they need material things to wear for others to see? Doesn't their love of the Savior show? Isn't that enough to show that they are Christians? It seems to me that it should be enough. I was taught in Sunday School that being a Christian is not only accepting Jesus into your heart and life. It is also keeping his commandments and trying our best to love others. Which, btw; means being honest and truthful with them. Even if the truth is not pleasant, it will always be the truth.

Sometimes I wonder if believers should have a church wide campaign to leave their crosses and other similar christian identity at home and go out to witness their faith and show love for one another. Maybe by exhorting one another to leave it at home, they wil be compelled to lean on Jesus more in living as His out there.

MCap, you're absolutely right. Sometimes I'm amazed, when I look at it from the perspective of an unbeliever observing Christians that don't practice what they preach, that there are as many converts in the world that there are.
As Paul admonishes (NIV)...
Galatians 4:8-9: "Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. But now that you know God - or rather are known by God - how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?"
