Hi I need help. I lost my job in april and at that time I filed for disability. I was approved for the disablity, but I'm feeling lost.I worked all my life and I had worked for 20 years at this last job. I just don't know what to do with myself.I feel like god is punishing me for something and I don't know what.where I worked they first took away my health ins. Then they said I took $49.75 so they fired me.My check for that day said I was .25 cent over. I can't seem to get over the anger. and I can't seem to get direction back. and I want a part time job. I am going crazy. nanny1

Hey Nanny1.

As a person who has been jobless…more than once…I understand what it is like to feel misplaced because you are out of work. On the up-side, you were approved for disability…although it may not be a lot of money, it is better than absolutely nothing. It may seem like you are being punished by God…but you are not. Unfortunately we live in a world that is…very unfair…to say the least. Whether we are for God, or against Him, in this world, negative things will always happen to us.

It has been an EXTREMELY hard lesson for me to learn, but I have found that…our personal (and worldly) perceptions of what it means to be “punished” can cause us to bring an unnecessary amount of misery upon ourselves. It is not easy, but try to imagine the things that you can do for God now that you couldn’t do before, because your time was always occupied by your job. Maybe now you can participate more in church functions you couldn’t before, be the mentor to someone who you couldn’t before, go places, do things, build relationships that you couldn’t before. Maybe now you can take the time to appreciate things in way you couldn’t before.

From what little you posted here…you seem like a very intelligent and hard-working woman. If getting a part-time job will make you feel better than do so…but this is just one more thing you have to overcome, be confident in your strength to do so.

My husband has been disabled since 1998. he is on alot of medicine and he is very withdrawn into himself and doesn't get up to do very much. All of this is easy. I have 2 adult children that have addiction problems and sometimes no alot of times I just want to run away. nanny1

Looks to me that it was good although it may not seem it at the moment, sounds like you put forth too much time in your work and it was your main priority, God's making your path straight, you lost your job and was granted disabilities, the money may not be much but it is enough, God bless you and may all things be made clear to you.

dear nanny,When things look dark were to cast our cares on the lord because he cares for us,Also were to put our burdens on Him for he's our burden bearer.
The bible reads "My god shall supply all our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. I run a rescue Mission and I see a lot of people who are down, but praise God when they look up to Christ he is there to lift them up. kb42

Hi Nanny1. That was really horrible and unfair the way they let you go. It is a blessing though that you can collect disability. I am out of work myself and have no form of income at all. I believe that God has something better waiting for you in terms of work. Let go and let God take over. If you remain faithful and try to be a good christian, He will not forsake you and instead will bless you many times over. I will pray for you. Please pray for me too. Thank you.

Gabriel

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - (Phillipians 4:6-7)

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” - (Joshua 1:8-9)

nanny God has a plan for you, put your total trust in him. I know it really hurts when people make up things to bring against you, but God never will. He will convict your heart for any sin that might be there so you'll bring it to him but he'll never do you wrong. When Jesus walked on this earth they spit on him, mocked him, and hung him on the cross. He left the glory of heaven to go through that for you and me. Trust him nanny for all your needs,he'll never fail you. I love you and so does Christ.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Hello nanny1:

I'm sorry you're going thru hard times. I read the title and I want you to know that you're capable of doing great things beyond your imagination, so don't put yourself down. Problems are sometimes like storms, they are overwhelming and we don't know then they're gonna end; but we can be sure that there'll be an end to it eventually and everything will be clear after it. The Lord will provide and I hope everything gets better for you soon. God bless you.
