A cool little story that I thought I'd share that happened to me recently :)

I have never been a "super christian," nor have I ever wanted to be. I sin. I ask for forgiveness. I know that I am going to heaven. I pray, and have a relationship with God, but I've never been one to really share this with others unless I am asked--or know they are Christian. I never wanted to come off as a "braggy" self rightous "know it all" Christian, because I really dont know it all. I trust more in God and what he shows me, than the facts and metaphors the bible presents us with--which tend to confuse me and make me ask not so good questions. And with my unique thinking, I have stayed away from trying to minister to others. I mean... Who am I? I dont know enough to truly teach the amazingness that is God!

Well, apparently God can work with that. ;) He has used me recently, completely without my knowledge, but it is a true accomplishment that I can say I am really proud of.

I am a nanny for 3 kids. They are ages 8, 6, and 2, and their family does not know God. I didn't know this when I started--other people's religious preferences seem like none of my business (especially concerning work). However, I am not one to ignore my own faith at work either. I go about my day normally. I dont cuss at work (or even pretend cuss like "what the fudge" lol), I am polite, and I say grace quietly to myself before eating. When the kids ask something like "Jenni... Where do trees come from?" I will give them my honest answer of, "God gave us trees in the beginning of time. Those trees had seeds, which created more and more trees and more seeds until the seeds made it into your yard, and this beautiful tree grew here." because that is what I know. I never intentionally mentioned God, because you never know how the parents will react.

Anyways, the other day, Brynn (age 6) was telling me all abotu who she loved, and she ended it with "and mostly I love God."

This made me smile, because I knew her family were not church goers and I was relieved she knew who God was. I wanted to know how much she knew, so I asked, "Brynn, what do you know about God?"

She replied, "He loves me, and protects me. He made the world and everything good in it. He has angels that help Him to fight against the bad guys."

I smiled and inquired further, "Who are the bad guys?"

She answered without hesitation, "Satan is the baddest guy, he makes other guys bad. He wants us to go to the bad place instead of Heaven."

"Oh?" I pressed.

She gave me a puzzled look like a "you dont know this?" look before saying, "yeah, but it's okay, because I'm a good guy. So I get to go to heaven. Like you."

This made me sooo happy! haha so I said, "Oh... That's good! How do we get to Heaven?"

She answered quickly, "Jesus died so we can. Because we're good guys, and we believe in Him and say sorry when we're bad on accident. We asked Him to live in our heart."

I said, "that's right! But we always try our bestest to be good!"

She smiled and nodded, but I wanted to know where she learned all of this--aware that she didn't go to church or Sunday school, so I asked her, "Brynn? How do you know about all of that?"

She, again, looked at me funny and said, "Well Jenni! I learned it from you!" then rolled her eyes and went about her day.

You can imagine how shocked and elated I was at this reply! I mean... WOW! We had never had a direct conversation about God--I had answered questions when she'd ask, but it was like A question here or there. Somehow, she put together the little things I did and said into something real and amazing!

God worked through me when I thought I wasn't cut out for it, and it feels fantastic to be his tool! lol Someone knows God because of ME?! It's just... WOW. Words cant describe how completely wonderous that feels! It goes to show the power He has, even when you're not paying attention he works through you! :D Watch what you do, for you never know when there are little watching eyes on you! I LOVE GOD! <3
