"We must be the change we want to see in the world".

This quote has hit me dead center in the heart so I thought I would share it. Ok so I have heard this quote before but as I sit back and watch the news today. I realize that there is an overwhelming about of bad news, I mean Micheal Jackson this, bad weather that I just feel like its to much and then everyonce in awhile a small story comes out of someone made a difference. It makes me smile to know that people are still doing good. I mean I hate child abuse, it just gets under my skin and boils my blood. So I want to do something about it. I challenge everyone here to make a change in the world. To choose what gets under there skin and try and change. Anywho let me know what you guys think.

Did you watch the CNN Heroes special last year? I think it was in November. They gave these "hero" awards to people who had devoted their life to making a difference in the world. It was really touching, and made me feel like I was wasting my life. :) And out the 10 heroes selected, most of them were Christians and talked about their faith during their acceptance speeches. I remember one of them was a woman in her 20s who liked to run, and started a ministry where she ran with homeless people in the mornings; running made these homeless people feel like they could accomplish something, and many have been motivated to turn their lives around. Another was a doctor who manages to get donated or discount prosthetic limbs and travels to Mexico several times a year to attach these limbs to people who cannot afford them, free of charge.

Check it out here: http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/cnn.heroes/

I heard someone say that "you are a solution to a problem". Continue to allow God to use you to be the soution to the problems that surround us in the world.

Child trafficking is something that struck a cord with me...... children, some as young as 4, are used in the sex industry...particularly in Thailand......I support a group that are against this.....and risk their lives to save these children, providing food, shelter, counselling and a safe place to stay as well as educating them so they have proper job prospects in the future........

I remember reading that there are more slaves in the world right now than there have ever been in history. One organization that does some very good work is Loose Change To Loosen Chains. They use their contributions to purchase slaves around the world, in order to free them.

Is there a website for the group you mentioned Groundhog? I googled them but only came up with some blogs. Is there somewhere to donate?
