I don't want to insult anyone or seem as if I don't appreciate what they are going through; but, there are times when I read through some of the things others are going through with their spouses and other loved ones and it makes me smile. It makes me smile because when your spouse, parents, siblings and other loved ones have gone to be with the Lord, even the times and events that seemed so awful and insurrmountable years back are precious memories.

Life is tough, isn't it? We get hurt. We hurt others. We hurt and are hurt by those we love the most. But the growth, development, passion, compassion, tenderness and understanding that can come from those things is precious. Those we love are precious no matter the circumstances.

So, if you have an issue right now with a family member, please take a moment and ponder never seeing them again, never having a chance to apologize, never having a chance to see the forgiveness in their eyes and never hearing their voices again, even angry voices.

It has been several years since my husband passed. Oh what I would give to have him standing here in front of me upset for some silly reason neither of us remember. Or what I would give to have a chance to tell my dad how sorry I was for being a stupid kid who didn't fully appreciate his wisdom. Or to have a chance to tell my mom how much I love and miss her, and that I understand her so much more now.

Your families are your treasures. Even the messed up ones. Please think about this and take your problems to God. Let Him heal your situations. Let Him speak peace to them. Let Him give all of you an opportunity to make it right while you can so you won't have regrets.

God bless you.
