This is simply a forum for discussion...I don't think anyone is saying that only 'true' Christians can participate. I think there are many seekers here and we are to encourage them to think out Christian beliefs .... and it doesn't hurt the Christians to practice articulating their beliefs.

We may sometimes articulate incorrectly and that is where polite discussion can be very beneficial to everybody :)

Patience is nice since we are 'working out our own salvation' as Paul says.

We have to be concerned with others people relationship with God, that is stressed extensively through the bible, we just shouldn't do it in hypocrisy. If he feels he is true before God, then he has the right to say that. It may sound rude, but often when people get rebuked they get offended and don't see the necessariness of such statements.

The whole "don't judge others" and "focus on you and forget everyone else" is purely unbiblical

Re: Same sex marriage is an abomination and if you support it you are not a christian
Even though this is a Christian forum, it is still a very public forum where not everyone is Christian and apparently anyone can join without verification. It would be wise to investigate the links provided in member profiles to see just where they are coming from. I speak this mostly to the young in Christ - be careful to whom you listen.

What's this? Christians fussing about who is closer to God?

Such a thing ... unimaginable.

Not at all. Simply warning the younger ones in particular to not believe all things posted here.

I agree, but maybe after hearing the testimonies of so many others, they will start to think about becoming a Christian.

There we go again. This is the reason why I got in trouble before. Because this type of hypocrisy gets on my last nerves and I tend to explode. Why don't we just stop. NONE of us have the right to judge who is a Christian and who isn't. Only God can judge.

There was a passage that Jesus said. I forgot where exactly it is, but it went something like, "Many will be saved that you do not expect to see in heaven". Just like the humble tax collector who was forgiven and the arrogant pharisee who was not.

"Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: 'God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.' But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn't even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Remember too that we're in different 'stages' so to speak in our walk.
If someone here who says they are Christian believes something that is unbiblical, pray for 'em and let God take care of the rest :)

I imagine there are probably some things I believe that are wrong, too. I don't like saying that, but God corrects me.

EDIT: While there are probably some wolves on this site, they're still human.

It seems many people who claim to be Christians are too afraid to take a stand against what the Word calls evil. They are afraid of what people think of them, worried about their own reputations among men instead of having the fear of the Lord in them. They have never known true persecution, they have not fully surrendered to the Creator of this universe. They are tares among the wheat, and if anyone speaks the truth to them they point the finger and just say that we are not walking in love and if anyone who preaches Gods judgment on those who oppose His divine ordinance then we are also not walking in love. Was Peter walking in love when Annanias and Sapphira fell dead at his feet when they tested the Holy Ghost? The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom.

Jesus made it crystal clear, He said the way is narrow and few will find it, many who attend the church today think they are saved because they said a little prayer, shed some tears, and are now IN the kingdom, because some liberal hireling told them so!

They are looking for fast food salvation, where millions are coming to faith, but still defiled and living a double life!

Jesus said many will be rejected in that day, He said depart from me, you workers of lawlessness and iniquity!

And He also said that whoever transgresses and doesnt abide in His truth, are not of Him!

Be careful who you listen to, and follow, they may seem sincere, but so are the Mormons, and other cults!

Evidence of True Salvation. Can I KNOW I am Saved?
True spiritual assurance can only be given by the Holy Spirit of God. If you have really come to Christ an intense 'spiritual' warfare is taking place inside your soul. The flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh! Gal5:17 WITHOUT the FULL Armor of God, Eph6:12-18, you DO NOT stand a chance against the wiles of the devil and you WILL 'shipwreck' your faith & Forfeit your salvation. BEWARE lest anyone 'beguile' you as the 'serpent' deceived Eve, 2Cor11:3-4, and 'corrupt' your mind from the Simplicity that is in Christ. "The deceitfulness of sin will harden your heart against God's Word." Heb3:12-14
"For we have become 'partakers' of Christ IF we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end!"
The 'Works' of the flesh are evident: (Gal5:19-21) adultery, fornication, uncleanness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murder, drunkenness, revelries and the like....of which I TOLD you beforehand, just as I told you in time past, that those WHO PRACTICE such things WILL NOT inherit the Kingdom of God."
But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have Crucified the flesh with it passions and desires. (Gal5:22-24)
If you DO NOT 'Crucify' the flesh by the Power of the Spirit, you will be overcome by sin and Fall from Grace. That's what Jesus meant when He said 'Abide in Me, bare fruit or be cut off!' (John15:1-6)
"Do not be deceived, God is NOT mocked, for whatever a man sows that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life! And let us NOT grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap, IF we do not give up!"
Gal6:7-9
The message of the Gospel is simple. Men have perverted & twisted it to accommodate sin. God has made provision through GRACE for you to 'Crucify' the flesh with it's lusts and desires, Walk in newness of life, possess the Mind of Christ....and bare the fruit of the Spirit. Refuse and you have 'believed' in vain. (1Cor15:2)
Grace DOES NOT accommodate your sin, it is the power of God to eradicate the corrupting influence it has over your flesh! 2Pet1:4, 1Pet1:22
Titus 2:11-12 "For or the GRACE of God has appeared to all men. teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts we should live soberly, righteously and godly in the present age."
That's Grace. The Kind the Bible teaches. NOT the Cheap variety preached in your churches. If you have 'accepted' Jesus and are still bound by lust, you are LOST still! KNOW this, there is no such thing as a 'Christian drunkard', 'Christian adulterer', 'Christian fornicator', 'Christian thief' 'Christian homosexual'
In other words, 'Carnal' Christianity DOES NOT exist. ONLY in the minds of the cheap grace preachers. 1Cor3:3 is NOT talking about people bound by sexual immorality as in Chapter six. It's referring to people in the church with minor 'disagreements' over their favorite teachers. Your preachers are lying to you by using this as an excuse to permit sexual immorality in the church! Just like they do with Rom7
Rom7 is Paul's experience prior to conversion to Christ, trying to be holy under the law and finding it impossible. His WALK afterward is CLEARLY shown in scripture, SEE: 1Cor4:16, 11:1, 2Cor6:3-10,11:23-33, Gal2:17-21, Phil3:6-11, 3:17, Col1:28-29, 1Thess2:10-12, 2Tim1:3, Acts24:16
WHY would this man of God describe his conduct as BLAMELESS and his Walk as PURE if it wasn't true?
The NORMAL Christian experience is VICTORY over sin & lust! That's what the Bible teaches. What your preachers teach is nothing short of a Gospel of sin!
"But if while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? GOD FORBID!" Gal2:17
"I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me! The life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. I DO NOT set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law then Christ died in vain." Gal2:10-21
It is an INSULT to the Spirit of Grace to teach someone they can continue in Willful sin AFTER they have come to Christ! Heb10:26
Whether you have 'Believed' for a while, or 'Never' really 'believed' is NOT the issue. The message of the Gospel is the Power of God's Grace to Deliver you from sin! The Keeping power of God is through His Grace, Heb7:25, BUT the Gospel is: 'IF YOU CONTINUE IN HIS GOODNESS, Steadfast to the end. OTHERWISE you also will be CUT OFF!' Rom11:22
He will NEVER leave or forsake you, Nothing can separate you from His love and NO ONE can Snatch you out of His hand....BUT unless these precious promises are 'contingent' on YOUR WILLING Obedience to CONTINUE in the Faith....the BIBLE doesn't make sense!
God has made this eternal Decree through his Prophets: Ezk18:24-27
"IF the Righteous man turns from his righteousness and sins, he dies in his sin."
"IF the Wicked man turns from his wickedness and does what is right, he lives!"
What's NOT FAIR in this decree? 'YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW'
GRACE DOES NOT remove this eternal Principle. That would make it 'license' to sin.
GOD FORBID Christ would die to preach a Gospel of sin!
You can KNOW your are in Christ according to Scripture. By the fact that you are NO LONGER walking in your old sins. 1John3:1-9 YOU ARE NOT Saved in Christ IF you continue in sin!
"Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. IF what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you ALSO will abide in the Son and in the Father!" 1John2:24 (True assurance)
"These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may CONTINUE to believe in the name of the Son of God!" 1John5:13 (KJV leaves out 'continue' but Greek implies it)
The Message is "IF YOU CONTINUE" The OSAS preachers are lying to you! Flee their churches. Don't support them with your time or money, or you will PARTAKE in their sin! 2John7-10
READ your Bible, SEEK Christ, Pray for the Spirit to teach you the Truth! Your eternal soul is at stake!
Jesus said FEW would find the NARROW Gate & many false teachers would hinder your way. Matt7:13-16 DON'T Be deceived by the False teachers of OSAS. Turn to Christ and LIVE! www.standingthegap.org

I would choose your words carefully :)
Your last sentence seems to suggest that the site is a so-called "false gospel". Remember that you are in a forum. People will not share the same beliefs as you 100% of the time. For example, I don't personally believe in the "Name It and Claim It" Garbage, but a lot of people on here believe that it is true. I don't agree with it and I know God's word doesn't support it. BUT I also know this is an internet forum and people will always share different beliefs. So to jump to conclusions and assume that you know someone's heart is pretty ridiculous. Just a thought :)

Hey Tony,
It's me again. Hehe.
Maybe it's true, yes, there are people who are not who they claim to be. And sure, we should be more vigilant to whoever we're talking to, but making sure we don't judge them too. There's a very thin line between the two. I know you're just warning us, like a look out, just like what a brother does. And I appreciate it! Thank you. ;) This is another reason to spend more time with God reading and studying the Bible so we can grow up and not be deceived by false Christians and false teachings. So that we will be able to stand firm in our faith and not get blinded by what ever the world has for us, which are fleeting. May the Word of God be written in the tablets of our hearts.
God Bless you Tony.
