If a married man fantasizes about his wife while doing this, he will eventually fantasize about something she cannot do or will not do, causing him to practice his habit more. In the end, he is committing adultery because he is fantasizing about another woman entirely that only has her face.
That statement is FANTASTICALLY PRESUMPTIVE and has no basis in scripture. I have to conclude from your conjecture you have a very low and base opinion of men (which I find strange), you might as well say it causes hairy palms and blindness.

Surely, you have not forgotten what type of society we live in, or the current state of church in these last days? Nowadays, if such a thing is possible, it will be tried.
Perhaps you should ask yourself this: Just how far can we go with our imagination? Now combine that with the lust of our flesh. Any kind of thought is possible.

Wait a minute, if Jesus himself said that just lusting after a woman, (within the imagination alone) is commiting adultery aready within the heart, (and it is the heart that God searches) Why would masterbation be okay? In what world? Let's be honest all, masterbation is a selfish, lustful, self serving act, and we all know that anyone who does this is not thinking about a blank slate when doing it. Lets be real. as for married partners, masterbating while fantasizing about their spouse......I don't even understand that. I wonder what people did before the world introduced then to such a thing. Yes. the world. (Before you argue, think back to how you learned about it, and how you were awoken to this garbage.)

To the OP. Yes, according to scripture, your scenario equates to a type of adultery, but I would never advise leaving a marriage for this reason, but rather, the marriage needs some help. That's for sure.

meh maybe your wife isnt satisfying you and you use masturbation as an aid. This is a very black and white topic. I mean if one were denying sex to his wife because of masturbation then sure. But if its something on the side and he thinks about hsi wife, then I dont see the issue honestly. Also I mean not all people are willing to engage in each others sexual proclivities...so if masturbation takes care of that its certainly better than cheating.

Okay Nautilus... you have gone a bit too far. I never meant "if it's something on the side", which implies something hidden. A husband's body belongs to his wife and visa versa. The spouses should know... and I don't mean anything like having to ask permission first or anything weird... just that in there should be open communication in this area. Scripture PLAINLY states the marriage bed is undefiled. I am not condoning an unhealthy scenario... I clearly defined the certain possible application... like if a spouse is unavailable due to distance (like a lengthy bussiness trip, not just working late TONIGHT) or illness (a serious illness). Spouses should always give to each other, since this builds intimacy and strengthens the marriage bond... yet there are scenarios as I have pointed out... that have a positive and practical application.

Regarding the previous post Strong1... saying introduction to masturbation... it is a clinical fact, that very young children and even babies will masturbate... as they can discover certain things "feel good"... it is parents who who generally introduce wrong teaching in this area in an effort to get the uninhibited behavor under control.

I appreciate that this topic has come up... whoever does or doesn't... should check themselves to ensure their reasoning is logical, scriptural, healthy and free of condemnation. :)

I meant on the side as in addition to a normal sex life. Not anything hidden though I can see how it could be misconstrued. The business trip example is very clear and i agree. Also sometimes some things one spouse is into the other spouse isnt. so fantasizing a spouse in that scenario could be a viable alternative to the real thing
