He divorced my mom in October and is getting married to another woman in December. What do I pray for?

I've heard of people getting back together after divorcing, but my Dad is getting remarried, so I guess that may not happen...

Probably salvation. I don't know what else would matter without that. If he is saved then for God to unharden his heart.

Blindside-chick, I am a 55 yearold man that ALSO cheated on his wife. It is a sin like any other, and it comes from satan. Every sin we commit, we need God's salvation for. The ONLY thing that can stop that sin, is God and HIS PROCESS to get rid of that sin for and from us. Just why we do it is because we do not have PURE LOVE from God YET.

My wife prayed for me for 16 years before God touched my heart. And that is when I started to change. ONLY God can convict us of our sin and HE DOES. Make no mistake God will SHOW your dad his sin, and when your dad hears God, God will change him. And you will see how God changes a man. It is amazing.

My prayer is for you and your mother and brothers and sisters if you have any.... Lord Jesus, give this family hope and faith that You will approach their dad! Lord thank you that You changed me, and that I can come and comfort this young lady, that YOU are FAITHFUL, and You listen to humble hearts. Lord bless this family with unwavering faith in God. Help them to put their TRUST in You, Amen!

God loves you enough to know you, TRUST HIM!

whatever is going on with your Dad must be bewildering to you. However, like it or not, accpetance and tolerance are needed here.
The most important thing is for you to get comfort through your faith. Forgiveness and love are the most important things. None of us can really know what leads to the behaviour displayed.
It also does not follow that you cannot have a very long term relationship, just because your parents could not make theirs last.

That's why I don't want to ever get married. It never works out, most everyone divorces in our throw away society. That leave the guy holding the bag with all these financial obligations. It's rediculous. Marriage has been co-opted by the g---v, now it's just a big money making raquette for the powers that be.

Dear Blindsid_Chik,

I would say that the first person you need to pray for is yourself. Ask God to give you wisdom and discernment to understand the situation from His perspective. I believe that you sound confused, right now, and aren't certain how you should react. You feel anger, no doubt, but are not sure if that is the correct response. You feel sorry, for your mother, for the circumstances, and quite possibly for yourself. You know what Scripture says about this situation, in general, but you are having a hard time applying it to your experience right now.

The best answer in times like this is to turn to God. Tell Him how you are feeling and ask Him to show you the correct response. Pray for His guidance and support in these trying times. He has promised every one of us, "I will never leave you or forsake you." (Joshua 1:5, among other passages) He will supply the answers you are looking for if you just trust Him and commit to listening for His guidance.

God be with you.
