Do you ever think , that you could do more to reach your family with planting a seed of truth with them ?

I feel lately that my seed planting efforts have been misdirected when it comes to my family.

I should bring to mind how temporary this life is, but there is a better promise of things to come.

I don't want one of them to have left the world, only to look back thinking I could have been more clear and given a seed of truth that was the most vital to them to think on . like Christ.

I want the best for my family, and I worry that they will get swept up in a situation they where not prepared to handle after they pass away; And thinking I could have been more clear and careful and to the heart of the matter with my words, with what mattered most.

What are your thoughts ?

Recently I had the some problem with my family - for some reason I started to ask myslef question - was I really interested in any of them. And to my shock - the true answer is 'no' - what I did was only what was expected of me nothing else unless I felt so. I don't really know any of them - i mean the history of their lifes - what made them the way they are now. The past is always the key to our present and theirs. For last year I started to ask more question and be more interested and people from my family I wasn't fond of look not as bad as they did in my mind for 'all those years' - deadful!
I think since I'm interested why I'm the way I'm and why God didn't give up on me - I start to be the some wiht others. More mersy for me - means more for them. We can't love anyone if we can't love ourselves!

My family are 'half-baked' christians, atheists, agnostics and as long as I don't mention the Bible to them they tolerate my being in 'their presence'. They have made it clear that they don't want the Bible 'shoved down their throats'.
Once in a while I will get into a discussion with them trying to convince me their belief is right then they get choked when I still proclaim Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour. LoL
God told me not long ago that I was keeping my family from their grace through Him so now I leave them in His strong and loving hands.

In all things pray and God will answer <3

It's just plain hard to get past the baggage! Childhood memories are from one perspective and it makes adult life confusing sometimes.

One man at my church says that we should always pray for another Christian to minister to our family members when we feel that we are hindered from doing so. Likewise we should ourselves be willing to minister to strangers. Even Jesus had problems ministering to his family and to people who knew him in his childhood.

That's not to say we shouldn't try with our loved ones....just not to be surprised at the difficulty.
