    Default Common Core Propaganda

A behind-the-scenes campaign called Common Core State Standards was driven by policymakers in Washington D.C. onto every state except Alaska, Minnesota, Nebraska, Texas, and Virginia.
This was done with insufficient public dialogue or feedback from experienced educators and parents. No research, no pilot or experimental programs, no evidence at all that a floor-length list created by unnamed people attempting to push their indoctrination onto America's children was implemented by the federal government.

Even if you ignore the fact that specific Common Core State Standards will open up enough cans of worms to keep subject-matter specialists arguing among themselves forever, consider how far the program itself falls short of the American education system that once existed in this country.

The Washington Policy Center has conducted in depth research and found common core fails our nation's children.

Why the Common Core is Bad for America | Washington Policy Center

The ultimate goal of Common Core is to have every school district follow the same national standards. This is a failed educational approach that will undermine educational quality and choice. States and local communities better know how to design standards based on their students and parents’ needs than Washington bureaucrats who want your child to be a dumbed down immoral person who votes Democrat.

    It's called the beast-(corporate) system.
A beast is a soulless creature.
A corporation is a soulless legal entity.
    Please read between the lines.

Just the Powers-that-be at work. The GMO thing I remember reading about many months ago. He bought seed and raised the crop, sometime seed falls to the ground and sprouts again the next year. They wanted him to spray his 100s of acres with roundup so he could not produce this crop again. He did not and so the problem....

The slave thing - wow. Dumb.
The curriculum issue that just does not surprise me.

"Three philosophical threads weave through the Common Core—statism, moral relativism, and progressivism. The statist goals of the Common Core are implicit in the lockstep uniformity that is the central thesis of the program.

Relativism’s influence on the Common Core is evident in the open-ended and research-based assessment questions and the expansive new student tracking systems, ideas which have been strongly promoted by relativist Howard Gardner.

Progressive educator John Dewey argued for standardized curriculum to prevent one student from becoming superior to others and envisioned a workforce filled with people of “politically and socially correct attitudes” who would respond to
    orders without question."

    HSLDA: Common Core Issues

"Perhaps the most immediate threat to homeschool and private school students is the expansion of statewide longitudinal databases. The designers of the new systems fully intend for homeschool and private school students to be part of the massive data collection."

"In light of the growing revelations that the government is engaging in massive invasion of privacy in spheres other than education, it is utterly impossible to believe that these databases will not be mined and misused to serve the ulterior purposes of a centralized government intent on growing its own power."

"Apart from the databases, we fear that the Common Core will eventually impact homeschool and private school students by affecting college admissions standards. Institutions of higher education are being pressured to adapt their standards for college readiness to the Common Core standards."

"This concern is being realized in multiple states, including Illinois. In a 2012 policy brief, the Illinois State Board of Education emphasized the need to seamlessly connect high school and college education by streamlining the curriculum taught to high school seniors and college freshmen according to the Common Core."
