On August 12 of this year, California became the first state in the union to say to kindergarten to 12th grade students, “You choose. You decide whether you feel more like a boy or more like a girl, and then select the bathroom, shower and locker room that fits your assessment of your sexual identity.”
The California Legislature passed it and the Governor (who has a private bathroom) signed it. They said it would stop bullying for kids that are not comfortable in traditional, sex-segregated facilities. And they ignored all of those who are not comfortable with this intrusion on their privacy and safety.
Let’s be clear: Forcing boys and girls to share a bathroom will not reduce bullying. It is bullying. ...
California lawmakers forgot the overwhelming majority of boys and girls that do not want their bathrooms to become “modesty free zones.” And they forgot about you. They forgot about parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters that would do everything they could within the law to stop this.
