I have been married to my wife for more than 38 years, just a few weeks after my baptism.
At the time my father-in-law told us that marriage is for giving and taking. There are times when
we must do things for ourselves, but more times when we must do things for our spouse.

It is important for both bride and groom to be on the same page as to what marriage means and
what Christianity means. We must be true to Christ and to our spouse and to ourselves.

Am I happy that I stayed with my wife all those years and had children? Yes, I am sure that I
would not still be around today if my wife were not here to help take care of me. When I had my
illness some years ago, she got people praying for me. If you marry try to marry a person of a similar faith.

God bless you all.

I think that needs to be said. The desire to become married and remain married have really decreased in popularity.

Congratulations on your 38 years of marriage, fortold! The father-in-law was wise to have such a talk with you two.

I agree. If the person you are married to truly loves The Lord marriage life would be more enjoyable instead of depressing. Marriage should provide support, and escape from the world. I am happy for you.

it isnt easy being married to someone who isnt the same in faith as you or sees the bible differently to you, but God has instructions in the bible about unbelieving spouses, how can two walk together lest they be agreed, In Gods wisdom he does show us how, It can be a long enduring battle but for me after 8 yrs Im seeing some fruit, Praise the Lord for that
