So I was debating this in school a couple of weeks ago. My friend and I went infront og the class and spoke against it.
During our debating session I handed out photos of dead babies 'fetuses'. Nd talked about how there are so many ways do kill a helpless child - for free in Britian.

To me abortian is murder - no matter what.
The opposion at the debate said well what about if the women/girl is raped and the baby is a result of the rape - well surely ur against murder if ur against rape?

Anywayz...whats your opinions?

yes ofcourse ,,,we christians should be against abortion...and its an act of irresponsibility!!!
if a woman/girl is raped its not the baby's fault...he or she is innocent with that...Let God punish and judge....
stick to your point and do not agree with them,,...abortion is killing...and killing is against the law of God!! abortion is SIN!!
now,,,if they want to abort the baby...well, they are also waiting for God's punishment...and they will suffer the guilt while they are still alive...
ans surely they will regret for doing so....
BE STRONG IN THE LORD!!! STAND FOR THE LORD!!!

If your raped and get pregnant.. why kill the baby, why not just have the child and give it up for adoption. The baby didnt ask to be conceived in that type of manor so why take it out on the child. I dont believe there is any circumstance in which you should have an abortion. NONE. I will never say its okay to kill a baby because someone was careless in having sex. Alot of women use it as a type of birth control. When my mom was pregnant with me, the doctors asked her to have an abortion several times because they said there would be so much medically wrong with me i would never survive anyways, When they did an ultra sound the doctor told her i was deformed also, and asked her again to have an abortion. There is nothing wrong with me, i am not deformed and never was in any way shape of form. There was and never has been anything seriously medically wrong with me either. I thank god all the time my mother didnt listen. Im so thankful she didnt believe in having abortions either. or else i wouldnt be here.

On the issue of being raped and ending up pregnant. It was a few months back but while listening to the radio while driving this issue came up. The radio host presented a study that showed that those who were pregnant do to rape and had the baby had a better recovery form the rape. Most of these women felt that it was a possitive way to overcome the trama. Some kept the child and some gave up for adoption. It also showed that more women had the baby than aborted. I wish I could recall the study but Im sure if you serched it out on line you could find it.
God bless, pickles

I beleive that abortion is a sin, and is murder. I was raped when I was 15 , and my mom forced me to take the morning after pill. If I had gotten pregnant I would have felt that abortion was wrong whether I was raped or not. Even if a woman is raped it is not the childs fault, there are other alternatives such as adoption, or raising the child.

You have an incredibly admirable trait considering that you went through something horrific and traumatic. If more people were like you, the world would be a better place!

I appreciate the excellent and heartfelt responses on this topic. And it is a challenging topic.

I think that abortion, like any other medical service, should be available, because I do not think that my fellow humans should have medical services withheld. I am not forced to have an abortion, and my conscience and my faith may well keep me from seeking one out.

As a somewhat older woman, I've had some experiences in my life that have influenced my thinking this way, a viewpoint that is probably different than what seems to be prevailing attitude on this thread. If I differ, I do so respectfully.

Abortion is just wrong, period. The ones that are born already are for abortion.

You could have demonstrated in front of the class by chopping off the head of a plastic doll and some fake blood.

I had an abortion. I've had to live with that for over 20 years. I thought it was the right thing to do at the time as my doctor said it was because i was severely depressed. My doctor was wrong. This was in the 80's and they didnt offer me other "pro life" resources, I was alone. I killed my child. Now that I have children the impact of that resonates in my heart. I finally stopped letting satan call me a murder and understand that the blood of the Lamb is for all of my sins, not just the minor ones. I would recommend anyone considering it pm me & we will talk. I wish I would have made a different decision. As far as the rape goes... you dont just deal with that... later you deal with the murder of your child. You sugar coat it at the time with words like its not a baby until so many months... but deep down you know differently. It was hard for me to see one cc members old avatar (was an aborted fetus) cause its like a punch in the face every time i'd see it... I DID THAT!! but thanks be to my Lord thanks be to my Lord thanks be to my Lord who was beat so badly and nailed to that cross for my black soul now pure as snow.

I respect your opinions on this matter. My earlier post is of my belief in all medical services being available to those in need, and that abortion is a medical service. Withholding any medical service from a patient in need of such brings on ethical, moral, and legal problems as well.

I would say to Gabriel777 that it's not necessarily true that "already born means (you're) for abortion", when in fact there is tremendous difference of opinion in society about abortion. In a way, just by being alive I am in a sense "Pro-Life"; I bellieve that if I were completely "Pro-Life" in my views I would have to stand against the death penalty, against war, against eating meat, against city animal control that has to euthanize strays, as well as stand against abortion.

All this to say that any viewpoint, however valid, can be taken too far. I prefer spaying/neutering to animal slaughter, as well as eating vegetarian occasionally to reduce meat demand. I prefer to hope for a society that will get away from making incarceration a profitable industry, and through good alternatives reduce all crime, capital crime included. And I would like to see abortion become less of an issue, as has been said, by making it unnecessary.

medical attention should not be withheld from anyone..however there is a huge difference, if someone needs medical attention due to an illness then yes, but abortion is NOT a sickness!

I agree Greybeard.

I do not think all medical services should be avalible - especially of the btax payers money and definitly not to kill an unboren child.

I do not think that people that go out everynight and get drunk sensless should be allowed medical treartment free out of the taxpayers wallet.

Furthermore do you know that 1 week after a baby is conceived it already has fingerprints.

It is a human and we should not be killing a deflensless child. I think what imoss was saying about 'ProLife' is that an unbirn child can not speak up, but people that already born can decide whether to kill another human being -

How rediculas being happy to let abortians take place.

It is murder.
