This is a review of an online curriculum that our family has used for years for homeschooling. Full disclosure: we get $25 for posting this review, which goes to my kids, who wrote much of it. :)

Here is what my 10-year-old has to say, with some help from his 13-year-old sister:

Time4learning has really helped us throughout the years. We love this curriculum. It also helped us a lot with Language Arts and Science. We like the cartoons the most because it’s entertaining and it doesn’t make us bored.

What we like about this curriculum is that it’s easy to understand the points of the lessons. The playground has some fun learning games that we like. Our experience with Time4learning has been great because we learned a lot from it.

Time4learning is a good curriculum but we might need other curriculums for more math practice.

Thank you Time4learning for making this curriculum -- we will definitely spread the word!

Now for my comments:

From what I understand, millions of dollars went into developing this K-12 online curriculum, and you can really tell. It was originally marketed to and used by public schools, but Time4Learning.com seems to have some exclusive license to sell it to individual families, for both homeschooling and supplemental lessons for kids in a school.

The lessons are very interactive and very engaging. Of course it doesn't replace a parent/teacher, but it sure is a good teaching aid! Actually a self-learner (which all kids should ultimately become) can very much use it on their own though a parent should always be supervising and available.

We're using it here in the Philippines and one good thing about it is that it's all perfect native-English speaker English. We know a French missionary family here that also uses it as their main curriculum.

The Math and Language Arts and LA Extensions subjects very much kinda run themselves because those subjects have interactive lessons/lecture with comprehension checks. To be honest, I kinda dread the social studies because (for many grade levels) it's all text with some quiz questions so I think to do that one properly the parent needs to give some lecture.

Though the Math is quite good for lessons and includes quizzes and some practice, I think it should be supplemented with some other online math resources for more drill. We use IXL and MathScore for that purpose, while using the Time4Learning math to teach the concepts.

They just added the high school level grades in Time4Learning, just in time for my older son who entered that level. He's actually enjoying it -- he says he really learns from the video lectures which he can pause or replay at any time, and which again are interactive. It really does help him learn the concepts.

There are also printable math worksheets which is good because I'd rather not 100% of it be sitting in front of the computer screen. Actually to be honest we have thought of switching to a paper/textbook curriculum simply because my kids already spend too much time on the computer doing other things (e.g., games and watching videos) but the thing is, this online interactive curriculum is SOOO GOOD that I feel that we can't give it up -- I don't think any textbook curriculum can be as effective (and as far as online curriculums go, I don't think you can get much better than this one, not to mention it's quite economical -- just a very small monthly fee). So if our kids' time on the computer needs to be reduced, something else will have to go -- games and whatever -- not Time4Learning! :)

That concludes my honest review and recommendation of Time4Learning.

Homeschooling is the solution to a school system that is falling down into immorality and psychological evolution lies.
I will check this out and thanks for the info.
