I have a friend named d. He lives under the 5th street bridge in Grand Rapids MI. D was in the navy, used to hold a job, has a child. He owes 40,000 dollars in child support and recently was thrown in jail.

He drinks to wallow his sorrows because he doesnt have the money nor job to pay for this. Herr daughter is 25 and isnt interested in the child support.

Does anyone know if this can be nulled.

I mean...he even is responsible for paying the amount owed in jail (this can also be charged as a mistemeanor). D is my friend....Ive known him on and off for two 1/2 years. He is involved with a prayer community...but his worries and regrets eat away at him.

Regardless of what you think of this man...I know...his heart. Dont judge ok? like I said, he is friend to many and we just want to help.

Let me know if you have any ideas, pray for him too. and Im putting this thread in the pq section. night

I don't have any ideas, but I prayed for him. He is obviously someone who has the ability to prosper, but is being held down. I pray that all of this will turn around for him very soon and he will see a way out to a good life again.

Thank you for sharing his story.

God bless you.

I know of a female that pays child support every month....she is in arears for this support........she also RECIEVES child support for another child SHE has custody of and IT was in arears......she just found out that her arears are being paid and it is a decent amount, BUT, my question is will THAT Money she receives go to the support she owes?..........or does she get it free and clear ..........ty in advance for your responses

The answer is NO and the equation stays the same.

Jazzy,

Sometimes we come across a little gruff, some of those who have been around longer post quite a bit and responses get shortened. I hope you do decide to stay, there are a lot of loving Christians here that can help your walk with Jesus.

I am not familiar with child support laws and they vary by state but I would assume any income, even child support, would be counted as income in the case of court proceedings.

First of all typing in all caps is considered yelling, not just one word.
Second you proceeded to 'yell' (according to your definition) twice, while complaining about others doing it. So now you're no better.
Third you brought up a 5 year old thread to ask a question, rather than create a new thread.
Fourth you judge every person on this site because your interpretation of one persons answer (which part of that interpretation was wrong).
Lastly you continued judging everyone here because his answer was not satisfactory to you.

I don't see one thing you did right in your posting here, yet you are quick to judge and criticize 100's of people based off of one person. Perhaps, if this is how you operate, we will not be losing out if you don't come back.
And if you are such a seasoned chatter you should know that reading tone/attitude of a person online can be difficult and often easy to misinterpret.
