So I serve as a leader on wensdays at church and I love my Sundays. I have been looking for a job for 6 months and no luck??? So then my mom offered to hired me at the casino she's a manger. She agreed to let me have wensdays off and Sundays and it's a really good paying job. I would be just selling food and nachos. No achoul or any drinks. So my question is it bad to work in a casino being a Christian? ? Plz give me answers????

You're just selling food. I don't see a problem with it.

Is it ideal? No. Is it permissible? I don't see why not. Do be aware though that any job you take is going to come with temptations. How will you handle being in the casino environment? What happens if they want you to work Wed or Sundays? How tempted are you by the idea of get rich quick because it will be in your face everyday when working at a casino? What are your options if you don't take the job? Have you discussed the possibility with church leadership and how they will react if one of their leaders has a day job at a casino? There are plenty of times that necessity or life circumstances have forced believers into undesirable situations, but I can't think of anything in the Bible to say don't do it and if you look at it as having the opportunity to be a light and bring Jesus in there is definitely some big opportunity there. It just won't be easy, but then again neither is having no income.

Do you know where those wages are coming from? Not God. That's for sure. Many spouses and children are suffering
because their family member is spending their hard earned money at a casino and leaving their families in poverty.
Gambling leads to addiction. So that money is called blood money. It has caused poverty and death to many families.
King James Bible
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
This is just one example of how God will reward obedience. It won't be long before the bible will have no effect on your life because you have been offered the easy way out. The more difficult path would be to trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean on your own understanding and he will direct your path. How can you teach your students to believe this if you accept this bribe. Satan is playing you. God is testing you. Wide is the path of destruction but narrow is the path of righteousness. God bless you sister to do His good and perfect will. Amen!

prettycakes, I agree with ugly. Working in or even gambling in a casino isnt sinful or to be frowned upon by the church. If its something you enjoy and it brings good pay and helps you to serve others, then I say go for it. Christians could do any job that others may consider sinful. I see nothing wrong with you taking this job. :)

I think depends upon whether your faith stays strong. I played as a professional musician before I was saved. God knew I could not handle it, and I never played or went back to a bar again!

However, there is a good point about where the money is coming from, and those casinos can make big money, I know! I think you really need to pray through this. Having no job is not an option that is very good either.

Have you thought of upgrading your education and getting a trade or some kind of training where you would be in demand? Something to think about for the future!

Have you checked with other Godly woman in your church. Your prayers can be biased because you are asking for yourself. But if you ask a group of Godly woman you know to pray for an answer. Then you give God the glory. Praying for your Lord to give you clarity and understanding in this matter. Sincerely, In Christ, Larry

did you take the job?
God can us every thing for his good. can you do this job and glorify god. Sonds like a place Jesus would have gone. You are going to have to have god's word on your lips because others will have Satan's words on there's.

Nothin wrong with it. God uses people everywhere. I've gone to the casinos here for a bit of fun... Honestly casinos could use a few Christians walking through those halls as there's a lot of lonely people sitting there hoping to get rich. The tables could use some friendlier people too... Sometimes you get a real good dealer and they're fun to talk to... But many times it's just someone doin a job. And just because casinos discourage dealers from discouraging others from playing, maybe some friendly words and encouragement is all it takes to get them to change their mood, pick up their stuff and go home.

Not saying everyone in a casino is like this but just walking through the times I've gone you can tell the ones who are just there for a good time and ones who seem kind of sad or lonely just sitting there throwing money away. Ya could chat with them and naybe brighten their day. Now that I think about it working at a casino would probably feel more rewarding than my current job if I took the initiative to be friendly and positive with those sitting alone throwing money away.

I've sat at the casino before like that, just out of it and you start throwing money away then ya get frustrated, spend more to get what you lost. But a friendly chat is all it takes to get your mind off things and I'm sure theyd appreciate it.

So I'd say go for it and just be friendly. A smile really does go a long way especially somewhere where people may end up cause it's opened all night and all the lights and sounds feel very inviting and exciting to someone down on there luck.

The Lord has peeps in all walks of employment. I worked at a casino for a bit. It wasn't any different from any other secular work environment. Our light shines amongst the believers and unbelievers in this temporary world. It's great you have reservations. Give it to God and he will give you the answer. He will guide you. Believe it or not...I work for a Christian company. That does not mean the employees are Christian. But my light shines. Like I said, God will guide you and He has peeps all over. Even in casinos. Just walk the path and don't do anything that would bring disrespect to your God. That's true in any employment. Peace be upon you. Shalom.

Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

You either hate God or money, and what you lead other people to counts.

1 Timothy 6:10 For the desire of money is the root of all evils; which some coveting have erred from the faith, and have entangled themselves in many sorrows.

Isaiah 55:1 “Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
.

Proverbs 11:28 Trust in your money and down you go! But the godly flourish like leaves in spring.
.

Proverbs 22:1 Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.
.

1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.

I would not take any job in the gambling industry. It's a hideous, addictive, sinful business. I would do absolutely nothing to promote that industry.

Keep the bar high and try to find another job.

Well, here's one way at looking at it - people inside casinos need a witness too.

The wages are coming from the profits generated as in any other business. Living life to the fullest is often a sloppy process. I believe you would enjoy a more abundant living if you were to lighten up just a tad.

I'd rather work in a clean business -- living with integrity by glorifying God IS living life to the fullest. No other "abundant living" needed. I'll reserve that type of abundance for heaven.

While she may work in a place to caters to gamblers there is no luck or chance with God. Perhaps he brought her there to minister to others that have a need to hear God's word. This type of environment is fertile ground to do harvesting.

You don't witness to drunks by selling them alcohol.
