No, I don't agree. That would only make me become even less trusting and more paranoid if I were to find out from outside sources that would know about the husband cheating. If the couple were to preach this to others, it would make me wonder as to how their marriage even stands.

Scripture does state that you may be certain that your sin will find you out.

David tried to hide his sin with Bathsheba how did that work out?

Nasty thing about sin it leads to more sin.
I was thinking about that, and the quote from David, if I remember it right, "Against Thee, and Thee only, I have sinned." This was in response to the prophecy of Nathan about Bathsheba.

I suppose I could see how a polygamist in a polygamist culture could think of sleeping with another woman as not being a sin against his wife. Could he justify the slaying of Uriah to himself since someone had to be placed on the front lines, and it was battle, and Uriah was Hittite after all? But Nathan prophesied that he'd slain him with the sword of the Amorites.

I don't get your point in replying to this particular qoute you placed from me. Are you saying that Satan won't bring out every sin you do and hide? This is a serious question because it seems we are in agreement about confessing to the wife, but then you kind of trail off to a man and porn and perhaps not confessing that to his wife. So I am really not sure what your point is. Do you think a man who watches porn is a sin that won't be made known to his spouse ?
I was responding to the part where the preacher said to confess only to God. James talks about confessing your sins to one another.

Also, I don't see where the Bible says that Satan is the one who makes everyone's sins known. I suppose God could allow Satan to do such a thing in some situations.

I read that comment and totally missed the part about Satan. I automatically thought about Mark 4:22, but that would have absolutely nothing to do with Satan. Thanks for pointing that out.
