All depends how both husbands and wife's are genuinely equal to each other. All depends how they treat each other, and most importantly how much they compromise each other. Most relationships end before they think to try sort it out. There is a saying, "its quicker for a person to move on to another guy or girl, than to sort there differences out." Were the love in that?. Were the compromising? were is the equal in that? There isn't, because they choose to listen to themselves rather than listen to the will of God.

According to women on Christian dating sites, a good husband is someone who is fit athletic with a nice toned body and has a good job, the lip service to being a good Christian is there, but of course ignored in pursuit of Adonis.

THen there are other women who think a good husband will be someone who is Christ. They find out a little imperfection and thats it, they are off as how dare the man be like that.

OF course Ephsians 5 is a good model of what makes a superb husband, but that is often not good enough for women, especially those who crave materialistic things and crave a perfect body to hold on to.

Then they grow up and realize no one is perfect and they revel in the imperfections that make up the man that is to be their husband. And money or lack of isn't the end all be all.

Agricola, how cynical of you?! Not all women are interested in looks or money. I know I wasn't, even at a young age. A man's character is his most important attribute.

What separates the men & women of today from yesterday? Lust & greed. So Agricola is correct in my opinion.
Agree with you that not all women are interested in looks & money but most of them are (more than 50%).

To be absolutely fair we must acknowledge that men fit in this same mold. Finding a man who is not interested in looks and money is hard also. They are a rare breed b/c of the society and popular religion of today. No where in the bible does it state that by following God do we gain material wealth and yet that is what is taught in a lot of churches today. No where in the bible does it teach we will have the perfect "wife/husband" in looks and character...again taught in a lot of churches. Yes we are to strive to be and fill the roles God and Christ have laid out for us in the bible but we as humans are imperfect. Once people realize this, they stop looking for perfection and start looking for a woman/man who strives after God's own heart.

I think the best part about Adam and Eve's marriage that it was done by (God match.com) How could it fail?....oh I remember now she ate the fruit.

And curiosity killed the cat. Curiosity is the reason we are now suffering. Eve became too curious so they get kicked out of Eden.

Well I wouldn't know, Im not married to a good wife. I'm not married at all. All I know is that a good wife will make a good husband, if and I say IF there is equal compromisation on both parts. There has to be a balance, a wife should not ask for more than a husband can give, and vise versa.
