Problems! Problems! Problems!

I spend much of my time listening to problems. I visited an elderly lady (late 90s) in the local convalescent center a while back. We had a fabulous conversation about our young people, church and teaching them, and all of us that she had a hand in leading to Christ. When I asked her about her success, She said "you younguns found out how much fun that loving Christ brings".

I remember her problem management strategy even today. "Lay your problems at the foot of the cross, and then move on". Why is it so difficult for us to do that today? I wonder if it is a lack of confidence in God. What do you think?

I think I am odd, because I don't have that problem. I trust God to fulfill His will in my life regardless of what life does to me. I have noticed, however, that there are a LOT of very unhappy believers (non believers too for that matter) lately. This makes me wonder sometimes just how "odd" I truly am. I have found the joy in Christ. I sincerely hope and pray that others can find this freedom, this wonder and fulfillment.....this joy too in Love.

There is just so many more problems we can have now than many years ago, life is much more complicated, people are less caring and many have turned from God. We have a large amount of people not being raised Christian anymore, and many broken homes. Plus I believe in these last days the devil is pushing harder than ever to bring on problems and the cares of this world as a distraction. God can still handle it all but sometimes even as much as I have learned to rely on Him, it is easy to get distracted by it all.

I agree. you are so right when you say that we are easily distracted. After 60 years, I still get caught up in my own problems. It takes me far too long to realize just how easy it is to leave them with Christ and move on.

I really don't think there are many Christians left in the world. They say they are new and modern, call themselves of the new covenant so all of the old is taken out of their God. They say the old is of a mean God who dictates law to them and they got rid of that God in favor of love. Then they look at the world to condemn it, having no love in their hearts.

In the bible classes I go to, you can almost divide the class into two by the look of hate or love their eyes express. It is strange, but often the ones with the hardest look at the world are the ones who know the most scripture. Some eyes reflect the joy and love of the Savior, often the ones who are most silent in class.

You see the same thing in the forums. It is the ones who condemn others that are the most popular, those that express God are least followed.
