He let power corrupt him in ministry and his personal life. He became arrogant and full of pride. He plagiarized people's books in his books, and would not admit it when confronted, and academic no-no!
I also liked his preaching. I saw him debate Deepak Chopra and an apostate United Methodist bishop, with a woman who was saved from prostitution. Between the two of them, and the audience, they wiped the other two off the face of the earth with their tolerance, pluralism and new age philosophies. He was very gentle, humble and mild. It shocked me to hear about this other angry, domineering face. Not good to wear two faces. That is the definition of hypocrisy!
