The old songs are just wow and the lift up Jesus, most of the new stuff is about me, but some are good. But oh how I long for the old hymns.

It's because you're not listening to the "right" new stuff. There's plenty of contemporary Christian artists whose music not only reflects a new sound but there's new artists who display an old, hymnal sound too. Try the Singing Mechanic for brand new hymns, he just released an album not too long ago but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference had I told you it was released in the fifties :)
