My Papa is in a Veterans Home and he used to listen to country music. Now, they just play whatever. Anyway, when I asked him what singers he liked all he could tell me was "Oh, all sorts". He has dementia. Now, when I was younger he always had the music on in the car but I have no idea who, this was in the 80's to 90's.

If you liked country music and listened to it back then who did you listen to? The songs can be older than then as well, that is just when I remember hearing it.

I'll listen to them and see if it gives me the same feeling and vibe and make a CD to bring when I visit next.

Thanks for any help.

Hi Nikki!
Aww I will pray for your father.
He sounds sweet.

Hmmm....I remember as a child in the 80s.

Bands like Alabama the greatest hits LP....lol you can never fail when you go straight for greatest hits.

Also George Strait you father likely enjoyed.
There was Hank Williams Jr....Shenandoah sang 'Church on the Cumberland Road' that song is too cute lol

The Judds were popular.
I bet your father would enjoy Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings too. Lukenbach Texas or The Highwaymen was a classic 80s song.
Oh also the Bellamy Brothers 'When Im Away From You' that 80s hit still can make me cry lol sweet tune.

Urban Cowboy Soundtrack was a good 80s LP

Then when the 90s came....we were introduced to Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and like Brooks and Dunn

I love all kinds of music....
I hope I could help a little if anything.

God bless you Nikki...and your father is in my prayers.

Haha for some reason I was singing this the other day but didn't know who sang it! I think he will like this one! Not for any bad purposes though lol. It is very catchy.

Again, Hank Williams at the end, gives me the feel of what he was listening to back then. It was really easy to listen to, the music, sorta slower.

I'm listening to these songs...All of them...and then I'm looking up the artists that are listed up on the thread. Not bad at all. I'm sure I will put together something he will like very much! Now to make sure Amazon sells the songs!
