Ok all you guitar players. I showed you how to do it. Now figure it out. Lol. I don't read music so I figure most things out by just listening. It's good ear training.

While I'm not a guitar player, I can read music and also play by ear......a good ear is a great thing to have! Especially when you can play it right the first time after hearing it!

What ive discovered is that all good music has this underlying groove to it. To the non musician it isn't obvious but it is there and it is what makes it enjoyable to listen to. One can play the notes all day long but if you aren't one with the "pulse" it won't be quite right. Something I am really working on and developing. It's done wonders for my skill set and tool box. I think my favorite artist is Keith urban. His sense of rhythm is impeccable and so natural in all of his playing and singing.

Keith is sorely underrated as a guitarist. I think it's because he is so pop oriented. The art of the guitar solo is lost now days, thanks Kurt Kobain. My favorite solos come from Alex Lifeson.

La Villa Strangiato! since your taking requests. Lol. I learned the whole thing except could not hammer out the end of the first solo and most of the second.

Wow man. That's impressive. I use a program to slow down the fast licks and loop them. I think I can pretty accurately transcribe that way. I'm sort of a detail person when it comes to guitar.

Yea i get what you are saying, once you get on a roll you just flow naturally in playing music.....all this synthesizer voice modulation stuff is nothing compared to the natural music of singing and playing acoustic instruments.
