Soaking Prayer FAQs | CBN.com
"Soaking is a Psalm 23 experience. He makes us to lie down in green pastures and He leads us by still waters. He restores our soul. As part of the restoration process we may find ourselves responding physically or emotionally. We might laugh, cry, or shake as the Holy Spirit works in us."
"The Holy Spirit might give us a vision or bring a memory to our mind that He wants to heal. Often we enter into a deep rest. Perhaps we may fall asleep. Even if we don’t feel anything happening, by faith we believe that the Lord is working in our spirit."

The Trouble with Soaking Prayer | Women of Grace
"Assuming that you are talking about “soaking prayer”, red flags went up for me as soon as I discovered that it is associated with the infamous Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (TACF), the same Protestant revival church that promoted the so-called “Toronto Blessing” aka “Holy Laughter."

Gary Oates: Soaking: The Key to Intimacy with God
During our soaking times, we position ourselves to receive impressions, nudges, quiet whispers, pictures, angelic visitations, and supernatural revelations. Here is a partial list of what to expect:
– Dreams (Job 33:14-16; Genesis 28:10-16)
– Visions (Daniel 7:1-3,9; Acts 16:9-10)
– Trances (Acts 10:9-17, 11:5)
– Out of body experiences (2 Corinthians 12:2-4)
– Angelic visitations (Luke 1:57,11-17; Acts 12:7-10)
– Being transported in the Spirit (Acts 8:39-40)
So, essentially, we spend hours of our lives doing nothing, not praying, not reading, not studying, not preaching, not in fellowship, but laying around waiting for God to do something FOR us. Lay around in groups. Lay around alone.
It is just another psuedo-spiritual fad that is pushed by false teachers and people who make money on it by selling special music intended to aid in this time consuming act as we expect God to 'do' something. I saw mention of 'emptying your mind' mentioned during my little research.
As one site said, at first appearance it 'sounds' like a good idea, but if you delve deeper into it there is a reason it is off putting. And as i quoted above, they try to misuse scripture to make it sound biblical. Psalms 23 does Not state to spend hours at a time laying down while waiting for God to do something. This is yet another 'me' movement. It's focus is on getting from God, no matter how many hours you have to sacrifice doing nothing to get it except sit there and listen to music.
