Hi all,

Music has always been dear to me. I have always been fascinated by music since I was an early teen. I'm currently experiencing a dry period of inspiration. What I miss going back many years is focusing on writing songs that are inspiring and uplifting. Maybe because I have needed uplifting myself. I tend to stop and start, never finishing songs (so over 4000 songs now!)

Anyway I have had this thought a little while ago, that maybe you can give me your ideas for a song and I can make it?

eg. A Title, what the song is about, maybe the style (maybe song examples), who knows maybe even lyrics, maybe even you want your vocal in it?

I do have 2 guitars, a professional mic, keyboard, synths and recording setup. But I haven't used it properly in a while, and I never got around to becoming a guitar pro, although weirdly I become a pro when I have the intention to get a song out! I've also had a singing block for many years (apart from 1 song about a year ago).

HOWEVER, when the inspiration is there, there is nothing I can't do. There is nothing you can't do when you are In-Spirit. :)

Soft rock sort of like "mad world" I'll post it in what are you listen too.

Title:
"only one knows"

Maybe others can help with the lyrics, and I'll work on some verses over a few days.

Thanks I appreciate the input. I do like the softer more mellow stuff personally. Mad World was a very simplistic yet touching song, I believes these type of songs to be much more valuable. :)

Here is a recent rough draft called When Music Was. I do like my piano in this, and the emotional quality of it (always important to me).
Bravo, I really like that a lot, I dig the change in tempo adding the drums mid way through, good stuff bro.
I closed my eyes and just let it flow it was relaxing indeed. :)

"only One knows"

reminds me of this -

He has made everything appropriate in its time.
He has also set eternity in their heart,
yet so that man will not find out the work
which God has done from the beginning even to the end.

(Ecclesiastes 3:11)

it's true;
Only the Father knows

So maybe it would be better Only God Knows? :)

Wow - I loved your music, the beat to the piano was amazing! You are really talented.

This reminded me of Ludovico Einaudi.

Ok so, can you do something like Novo Amor with Anchor [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmKAn8rNbKg ]

Such mellow music always makes me reflective and thoughtful and it would be nice to have worship music set to that.

A theme to this would be - "God in the midst of loneliness" or "Never alone" or something that reflects how God is our constant help and how His presence never leaves us.

Another theme which I think would be great with the piano and the hip hop beat - hypocrisy (conflation of culture with Christianity).

This is something that I've been thinking a lot of and I realize there isn't any music talking about the double standards that happen in society and with Christians. This is something that Christian artists don't really focus on but I think as a topic and theme with music it would be very interesting!

If you'd like I can elaborate on it more - (even write something when I have time).

Thanks Rachel I appreciate your input, love the attached song. I really would love to make this mellow acoustic kind of sound.
And yes, when it comes to music, and lyrics it's a message. And since I have some pretty unique views, and perceptions, I think when I get my words out again they will be very interesting.

I'm hard work to try and motivate, and that is the reason I started this thread. Hopefully by the end of it I will have created a song, or multiple songs. But mainly my message in music, I want to be about love and what it is, rather than - in the secular world, it's about sex and relationships, in the religious world, it's about love for God or Jesus, rarely about loving your neighbour.

I believe God is singular, so I like to think that there are ways to bridge gaps between things, in our dualistic/divided society. As above, you have, sex/relationship vs. love for/from God/Jesus. However, love for each other in a Godly way is higher than sex/relationship, and actually working on our connection to each other, in my opinion, is 'part of' our love for God/Jesus, because it brings God present. I say that because there are so many people, who isolate their self into a relationship with God/Jesus, and hang around with 'like-minded people' and don't love their neighbours. It's like Jesus came along and talks about such things, and in ignorance they say 'sorry Jesus did you say something?' You know what I mean, those type of people who ignore everything they are not interested in.

Music comes from a desire for expressing oneself unfettered.
