Welcome

Just reflecting back on in the late 80's & 90's we always had a bit of The Cream of Eric Clapton tape playing in the car along with Peter Gabriel . At home I remember AC-DC , The Kinks, The Who, Cat Stevens, Fleetwood Mack .

I remember Mum playing Kate Bush, Enya and Dexy's midnight runners

Also I remember as a kid they had GOLD FM on in the mornings

I liked the 80's stuff Fleetwood Mack, alot of Peter Gabriel & Enya to.

How about your parents, and did you like it ?

Oh, I like Kate Bush. Well, I just like one song by her, really : p (Running Up That Hill)

As for my parents, they liked the Grateful Dead. That was their favorite band ever and they both liked them a bunch. So we heard them all the time, haha. There are worst bands my parents could have listened to, so I didnt mind it so much growing up.

After my dad left, my mom got into other music. When I was around 16-17, my mom really got into Evenessence, which was around the time of their height in popularity. I hated that, haha. I never liked them ever : p And shed listen to that same album over and over.

She was into alot of country, too. I remember having to listen to Tanya Tucker on every car ride we had to take. I did not like that either, haha.

I did get some music from her, though. She was really big into artists like Bob Dylan, Neil Young and The Cranberries and Moody Blues. I still like all of them to this day.

I don't think they listened to a lot of music. Or maybe I just can't remember.

Only thing I do remember Børudjengen (Arnold B Family)

My parents usually just had the radio station on oldies, which when I was growing up, that was mostly music out of the 50's.

When younger my parents didn't play much music. Usually it was my siblings playing things like Journey, Foreigner and KISS. But once I got a little older my mom started listening to country like The Judds. My dad was an old farm boy so he got into country and bluegrass. But he had a more varied taste sometimes as well. Now, in his 80s, I've heard my dad listen to anything from Gwen Steffani to Guns N Roses to bluegrass to random music from all over the world. Really the only music he dislikes is rap and modern country. Also electronic.

Love the Judds!
Why not me on a rainy day ?
Why not me to Love your cares away ?
Why not me when the nights get cold?
Why not me when your growing old? Why not me?
Good dancing tune too !

We grew up listening to Don Messer playing his fiddle, and watching
his Jubilee show, and also all the acts on Ed Sullivan, whose show we
watched faithfully every Sunday night, that included the Beatles before
I was nine years old. Did I ever sit up and take notice of them! My mom
also had LPs she listened to, such as Catherine McKinnon, and Burl Ives.

My dad bought a recording device that also played music, and that was
quite a sensation in our house for a little while. One of my fondest
memories of time spent with my dad is listening and singing along
to music on that recorder. Songs by Gene Pitney, oh my heart breaks
at his aching voice! And sweet songs, like Honey Comb, by Jimmie Rodgers.

Well it's a darn good life
And it's kinda funny
How the Lord made the bee
And the bee made the honey
And the honeybee lookin' for a home
And they called it a honeycomb

And they roamed the world and they gathered all
Of the honeycomb into one sweet ball
And the honeycomb from a million trips
Made my baby's lips

Oh, Honeycomb,oh won't you be my baby
Well, Honeycomb, be my own
Got a hank o' hair and a piece o' bone
And made a walkin' talkin' Honeycomb

Well, Honeycomb, won't you be my baby
Well, Honeycomb, be my own
What a darn good life
When you got a wife like Honeycomb
(Honeycomb)

And the Lord said now that I made a bee
I'm gonna look all around for a green, green tree
And He made a little tree and I guess you heard
What then, well, he made a little bird

And they waited all around until the end of Spring
Gettin' every note that the birdie'd sing
And they put 'em all into one sweet tone
For my Honeycomb

Oh, Honeycomb, won't you be my baby
Well, Honeycomb, be my own
Got a hank o' hair and a piece o' bone
And made a walkin' talkin' Honeycomb
Well, Honeycomb, won't you be my baby
Well, Honeycomb, be my own
What a darn good life
When you got a wife like Honeycomb
(Honeycomb)

And the Lord says now that I made a bird
I'm gonna look all round for a little ol' word
That sounds about sweet like "turtledove"
And I guess I'm gonna call it "love"

And He roamed the world lookin' everywhere
Gettin' love from here, love from there
And He put it all in a little ol' part
Of my baby's heart

Oh, Honeycomb, won't you be my baby
Well, Honeycomb, be my own
Got a hank o' hair and a piece o' bone
And made a walkin' talkin' Honeycomb

Well, Honeycomb, won't you be my baby
Well, Honeycomb, be my own
What a darn good life
When you got a wife like Honeycomb
