what style church songs do most of you prefer?
church songs with singing only or with music?(harp, piano, guitar, etc.)
I ask because my 17 songs I've written through the holy spirit don't have notes and so I sing them without instruments playing along,I was simply wondering which people here prefer, please post away and give your reasons for whatever choice you are more prone to.

My personal preference is stripped down. This whole pop culture praise and worship concert on sunday mornings i find quite irritating to hear.
As a teen in FL, one of my favorite Christian acts in my area was Polyester Jesus. Mostly it was one man and an acoustic guitar, but he played with passion, often breaking strings on two guitars during a 30 minute set. When he was able he would have some sort of percussionist, which sounded great.
So yeah, i prefer a guitarist singing rather than no instruments, or a full band.

If no one has ever heard a good a Capella group sing, you have never heard true singing.

The lead singer here used to be the worship leader at my wife's college church.

I like simple hymnal singing without music, sometimes more without music than with music, especially if it's catchy(gets stuck in your head),like some of my favorites include,go tell it on the mountain,Well done my child,Jesus loves me,I know I have religion,Near the Cross,I just wanna say thank you lord...whether someone is playing musical notes or not they are quite lively and uplifting, with everyone singing along,I find alot of value in just simple singing old church songs without any musical notes required because for one you can "tell" who is "actually" singing when no music is played.
