English Lyrics

La Paloma (The Dove)

My dear, la paloma sings in the tree above;
He sings with his sweetheart softly their songs of love;
Canta, la paloma sing us the serenade.
Canta, en la noche sweetly your serenade.
Fiesta is here, we smile and guitars are playing;
Breezes are blowing, as we are gently swaying.
La paloma, the dove,
La paloma sings on this summer night;
He coos, oh, so gently,
He coos so gently, under the stars so bright!
(Interlude)
Fiesta is here, senoritas and hombres dancing;
Guitars softly playing, making the night entrancing;
Our hearts fill with love, we wish this could last forever;
This magical time that brings all our hearts together.
La paloma, the dove, la paloma sings in the tree above.
He sings with his sweetheart softly their songs of love.

Thanks for your comment. Many have recorded that song and all are good. But of all of them
this is my favorite. God bless your father and I trust he would have sung it with a lot of heart.
I'm in western Canada and our Filipino population is huge here and especially in the church I
attend, the choir is largely Filipino. I'm not sure that from that sample I should conclude that
all Filipinos are great singers but I'll take that liberty anyway, smiles. God bless you and peace
and love of Christ be with you.

"If a dove lands on your window, treat it with care."

My wife began singing along with the song as soon as I turned it on. Thank you.

Better stop being superstitious ,HOSEA; 7;11-Ephraim also is like a silly dove,without heart; they call to Egypt,they go to Assyria. a dove will flock among other birds other than their own at times. that is why you never see a full flock of doves together. The dove is not the symbol of the Holy Spirit. The only time it presented itself was when Jesus was baptized,and it was not a real dove, flesh and blood. it was because a dove have a graceful ascension and descension. The Holy Spirit presented itself in many forms,and they are all spiritual,never flesh and blood. That is worshiping the creature whether than the creator.

I accept your criticism. I do think though that it depends on how you take it.
It is a song of love and sung lovingly, I believe it qualifies. Thanks.
