Hi Peeps :)

I do have a question, and I really dont know if this has been asked. I do instrumental rock. This means, there are NO words at all. For some of you who know music, if you know or heard of Joe Satriani, this is how I play. I really enjoy writing music, and would like to share a song that should be done within the next 2-3 days. Its called "An Eternal Grace". If you want to hear what it is somewhat like, go on youtube and search Joe Satriani- A Love Eternal. Almost exact, with emotions. Let me know either way if I can show it here? Thanks :)

Again? I dont mean to bump a topic, but this has received 133 views, and all Im asking is, if this is ok to do? Your rules are against profanity etc, but never mentioned music with no words.

Instrumentals can be hard to discern, especially with the fact there are no words. If you feel like you shouldn't be doing them, then by all means stop. If you don't, however, feel like you should stop, then by all means do them. Just make sure you are making the best decision in mind for you.

And speaking of doing instrumentals, I personally like to do classical music on guitar like Bach :D (Bach wrote actually wrote his music for the intention of it being used as balanced praise music). Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is absolutely beautiful and I like to play it on guitar :)

"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" ("Jesu bleibet meine Freude") is a choral from J.S. Bach's cantata "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben" (BWV 147). It was to be sung at the fourth Advent during a regular church service. I like your term "balanced praise," because Bach's music is ofcourse nothing like the Praise music of today. ;)

The choral was made famous by Myra Hess

Even if a song has no words it can be sacred and edifying, but that all depends on the mood of the music itself. For instance: purily instrumental metal is usually not fit for worship, it really needs the words. Sometimes the music to a sacred song (like "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring") is so well known that it doesn't need words at all. People automatically know what the song is about.

In short, if you think your guitar music has the right atmosphere, go for it. :)

No, there is nothing wrong with it. I love listening to instrumentals as well. It's so soothing to the ears.
