This was the most informative post I've ever seen in my life.

Seriously, you're not even going to post discussion questions, a recap...?

Not that I'm encouraging that on this particular post from you, but I don't even get the point of this.

I'll be honest, I was shown this movie in my youth group a few years back and as a result, I deleted a lot of the music I had - for example, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Daft Punk. Yet over time, I became skeptical about it. This website gives a pretty good critique of the movie, and is partially why I no longer believe some of the statements the movie makes.

Is it possible there is demonic influences in the music? Certainly. I'll agree that the devil can use music to sway us. But to say that the musicians themselves were under demonic influence means that their music is likewise evil and demonic... that's illogical. It just means the music was made by spiritually unhealthy people. Can the messages of the songs be bad for us spiritually? Certainly. That's where discernment comes in.

I generally stay away from secular music, especially if it has lyrical content.

I do mostly stay away from rock music, especially rock music from the 60s-80s.

It is almost entirely dishonorable.

You are what you eat, and that's not just your physical body either.

I used to listen to 97.7 out of Sedalia and Knob Noster, MO. (site: The Home of Central Missouri's Rock and Roll!)
I became a Christian part way through high school, and the documentary made me examine the lyrics I had never really paid close attention to.

Examples:

ZZ Top - La Grange

Rumour spreadin' a-'round in that Texas town
'bout that shack outside La Grange
And you know what I'm talkin' about.
Just let me know if you wanna go
To that home out on the range.
They gotta lotta nice girls ah.

Have mercy.
A pow, pow, pow, pow, a pow.
A pow, pow, pow.

Well, I hear it's fine if you got the time
And the ten to get yourself in.
A hmm, hmm.
And I hear it's tight most ev'ry night,
But now I might be mistaken.
Hmm, hmm, hmm.

George Harrison - Sweet My Lord, is about his devotion to Hinduism.
